4 Teeth

Katie now has 4 teeth. The top front two came in on the 29th (Saturday). I thought she had an earache (I get worried about this because her Dad's family has a history of ear problems in babies.) so I took her to the doctor, just to make sure, because she kept pulling at her hair at the back of her head. We get there and wait an hour. The nurse finally calls us in and wants to check her temperature with a butt thermometer. I said, "No, I don't want that." (No way am I going to let them hurt her little booty like that!) The pediatrics department NEVER checks her temp that way, so I knew it wasn't necessary. I was in Urgent Care this time, because the pediatrics snuck home early and closed up before 5, which is how late they're supposed to stay open. (I got there at 4:40) The nurse apparently didn't like that answer and asked me, not once, but twice "Are you REFUSING my service?" I finally had to tell her "YES, I'm REFUSING your service to hurt my kid's butt. Thanks anyway." So then she rudely tells me, "Will you ALLOW me to WEIGH her?" She weights her (20 lbs 5 oz), and sends me back to the waiting room where I was earlier. The two receptionist were sitting there whispering and gossiping about everyone in the room. I was watching them for quite a while, and one started putting a small paper in front of her mouth when she talked. I guess I wouldn't know she was talking about people if there was a 2 inch paper blocking her mouth....? LOL. Anyway, by that time I was there a total of 2 hours, and they finally called me in to see the doctor. So I sat in another room for about 25 minutes, while my Mom is playing Peek-A-Boo with Katie, and she starts cracking up, and then I see it. The reason she is cranky, the reason she is tugging her hair. (Last time I went to pediatrics they told me babies associate teething pain with the back of their head usually.) She has two little white dots poking out of her gums. Exciting. My baby now has 4 teeth :) I eventually left the doctor without being seen, since I KNEW that was the reason for my cranky baby. I gave her some motrin when we got home, and she was a sweet little girl again, until bedtime when she was too tired to function lol. Urgent Care= USELESS. Make an appt if you need to go to the doctors! lol. It was miserable there! At least Katie was being good for the most part during all the waiting.

Oh No for Mommy!

Today I was trying to study for my Geography test today. I have to memorize places on the map. While I was studying, Katie was entertaining herself with her toys for half an hour. When I was finished, I needed to get Katie ready so that my Mom can watch her while I go to class. I took her into the bathroom to give her a bath, and noticed her diaper wasn't on! She took it off of herself! I'm so bummed she knows how to do that! lol. I don't want her doing it at night and peeing in her crib :( Depressing lol. Then when I asked her "Where's your diaper?" She smiled and layed her head on me. Great, she also knows she's cute, and how to use it :/ lol

"Crib"

Last night a cute and funny thing happened. David and I were watching tv together, when Katie woke up. So I went to get her out of the crib in our room, made her a bottle, and let her lay with us for a little while. Soon after, she started getting wild, like she usually does after a nice "nap" lol. David then told her, "I'm going to put you in the crib" and she instantly layed her head down on my shoulder and acted like she was a sweet little angel baby. lol. We wanted to see if it was more than a fluke, so he said it a few more times when she started getting wild and loud again. She did it every time lol. It was so funny to us, I wish I had my camera close by. That would have been a cute picture :) She's so silly!

Heartbreaking

My poor little wild girl has her first ouchie. I was taking a nap on the couch, while my family played with her. (I am getting sick I think! I feel miserable, and even fell asleep on Easter! lol) But anyway, all of a sudden I hear "Oh my gosh, Katie!" and I jumped up from my nap and picked up my poor bruised little girl. She crawled right out of the high chair she was sitting in :/ And it was in front of the fish tank, because she likes looking at the fishies swim around, so she hit it on her way down :( It only takes one second. Sad. I know she's going to get hurt a lot more than this in her life! But it's still sad :( She only cried for about 5 minutes though, and then she finally took a nap, because she was SOOO overly tired from not taking one all day. When she woke up, she was all smiles again, but not so much wild anymore! lol. She actually sat in my lap for more than 10 seconds for once. WOOHOO! lol. She never sits still and lays with me or anything! lol. Always moving!

Easter

Easter was pretty boring, but pretty fun lol. I was SOOO tired that I took a nap. I am still tired today, and have a headache that's lasted hours upon hours, even after asprin! :/ Suckie. For Easter we went to my Grandma's house and just ate and hung out all day lol. We put our pictures we took, up on the big screen and watched them all. They were cute :) The Easter Bunny came to visit, and brought Katie, David, and Hannah an Easter basket. That was fun! David was scared of him at first, but then he smiled real big when he got a pinwheel from him. (I think that's what it's called?) lol. The Easter Bunny was my Mom by the way lol. She rented a costume to dress up for the kids. Nice, relaxing day. Katie got so much stuff from everyone! My Mom made her a basket, and Desiree and Mary made her one too. She got cute outfits and yummy treats. THANK YOU YOU GUYS! :) Also, we played with David's bubbles a little after we ate, and Katie LOVED them, but only if someone said "pop" as they popped the bubbles lol. It was too cute for words! :) She had a fun day with her family.

Afterwards, when David got off of work, we stopped by his family's real quick too, his Mom made dinner for him, and Easter baskets for us. David and mine was to share, and she made a little one for Katie with a rubber duckie and bubbles in it for her, coincidently, since she didn't know Katie's love for bubbles now lol. We'll be seeing David's family again soon though. Next Friday, David's Dad is treating everyone to dinner in honor of his oldest son getting his Masters degree. I could never stay in school that long! lol. I am bored enough going for my AA. The highest I'm aiming for is my BA LOL.

I absolutely love how her pictures came out. So worth the money. I couldn't have taken a better picture myself with the best camera in the world. David and I are in LOVE with these pictures lol. I am also getting a big 11x14 of it soon, that came with the package. I'm so happy :) She did really good in these pictures! We took them the same day we took the St. Patrick's Day ones, to save money and get both in one package. Good idea! lol. Next up: MOTHER'S DAY pictures! Of Katie AND me hopefully. All depends on how cute I look haha :p

Easter Bunny

Before Peech's birthday on the 15th, David and I took Katie to see the Easter Bunny and to take her picture :) For the first time, she has not smiled for her pictures :( It made me sad, because they could have come out so much cuter, but she still looks like a doll to me. I love her Easter dress so much. She looks adorable in it. I ended up spending about $35 on the pictures, but it's worth it to always have her first picture with the Easter Bunny lol. I got enough to send out to some of mine and David's family. But not everyone, so if you don't get one, SORRY! lol. They get expensive.

Peech's Birthday

March 15th, we celebrated David's brother's birthday (Peech is his nickname). I think he turned 25? We went out to dinner with David's family to Tokyo Steak House? I think that's what it's called. I've only been there that one time lol. They cook the food in front of you, which is kind of cool, but I didn't like any of the food lol. I ate fried rice, and picked out all the onion :/ And gave Katie a few bites. David ate the same as me lol. Mostly Katie just liked her chips and cereal. She chows down on those suckers :p

After dinner, we went to his brother's house for cake and presents. Katie kept trying to crawl to he cousin Travis, but he kept running away from her, laughing, like it was the funnest game lol. David and his brother's were playing their instruments most of the time (bass, drums, guitar) so I spent most of my time playing with Katie and her cousin Karli. Katie kept trying to eat the Bingo game we were playing though, which made me laugh. It was a pretty okay night.

Blake's Birthday

March 11th, we celebrated my cousin Blake's 13th birthday at Vince's Pizza. It was a pretty fun day, except they only had ONE ride for Katie. Kind of cheap...lol. But I still put her on it :p Also, Katie was VERY tired that day, and every time David or I would try to get her to sleep, she didn't lol. It was too loud there I think, and she was getting too much attention from everyone to go to bed. I can't wait until she's older, begging for quarters lol. She's so cute :)

Even if Katie couldn't play on everything, it doesn't mean I couldn't! lol. David and I played Air Hockey, and a basketball game quite a few times, while my family was keeping an eye on Katie :) And I loved the Cold Stone cake :) Too bad Katie's too little to eat it, it was yum! haha :p I had fun seeing everyone there that day. My cousin's Lauryn and Ashley came, and I hardly see them anymore. It was nice to get out and go somewhere!

St. Patrick's Day

Since I had school yesterday, Katie spent the day with my Mom. I wish I could have spent the day with her, but maybe next year. They spent some time in the backyard playing, and my Mom took a couple pictures of Katie playing. Then my Mom had to go baby-sit my cousin's kid, so that's where Katie spent the rest of her day. At my Grandma's playing with my Mom and driving her crazy lol. I hope she had fun :)

Forgive Me

I have been so busy with Katie lately, that I have not posted in over a week! She is into everything all day long! lol. Plus I lost my camera for a couple days, which drove me nuts. I finally found it, and I think Katie crawled off with it, because of where I found it lol. But anyway. Over the past week, I've been a busy Mommy. My Mom, David, and I took Katie to a park again, while she waited for her car to get tinted. We also ate at Chile's. Katie had a good time. In the picture of her at Chile's to the right, her shirt says "Mommy Makes Me Smile. She's the Best." Too cute :)

David's 22nd birthday was a couple days ago, and we went to Black Angus and had dinner with his family. I don't have too many pictures, because I always feel weird about taking pictures of his family, like I'm annoying them lol. But he had a good time I think, so I'm glad :) He got HALO laser tag guns for his birthday from his family. We'll see if he uses them :p

Katie is into EVERYTHING she can reach. Every day she pulls everything off my table, pulls the DVDs down, my computer games, whatever she can get her hands on! My floor is usually a mess because of it, and every day I am picking everything up and putting it back, until she wakes up the next day :/

Also, her St. Patrick's Day pictures came out good, considering the camera was broken, and they couldn't see the picture til after they snapped it. I'm sad I'm going to be in class all day on St. Patrick's Day, and won't be able to spend it with Katie. There's no way I can miss my classes :/ My Mom will have her though, so hopefully they do something.
