2 years

Yesterday was David and my anniversary (from dating, not marriage lol). It was also his brother Steve's high school graduation though. So we tried to do both. We went out to eat at BJ's before the graduation and ordered a pizza. It was yummy :) We made it a little too late to the graduation though. By the time we got there, security wouldn't let us through the gate, even though we had tickets. Bummer. Steve found me outside the gate afterwards though, while David was in the restroom, and soon after his family all piled out. His Mom wasn't able to make it since she lives in Florida, so I took a few pictures so I could send them to her. His family all pitched in and bought him an xbox 360, and his brothers let him borrow some of their games for it. After the graduation David and I went to the movies to continue our date. We saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was good, but David and I both expected it to be funnier. Glad we saw it though. My Mom watched Katie for me while we went. Katie can't sit through movies yet lol. It was a fun day, I liked spending the day with David. Today is also my Grandma's birthday, but we're doing the party tomorrow. We're having a bbq for her, at her house.

Wednesday Afternoon

Wednesday afternoon my cousin Ashley came over again while Jorge worked on my Mom's patio. We stayed at my Mom's for a little bit while Katie played with her toys, then we went to go buy lotto tickets, since I'm determined to win haha. Ashley picked number, and I did too, but I only got 1 right this time, so I didn't win anything :/ After we bought our tickets we went to our Grandma's to hang out for a little bit since we were bored and didn't have anything to do. We got bored quick since all they were doing was watching the old Rambo, and we took off. Blake came with us. We tried to call Lauryn to visit her, but she wasn't answering our calls, so I called my Aunt Mary to see what she was up to. She had Dave Dave with her, and we took the kids to the park. It was a little cold so we didn't stay too long. Afterwards we went back to my Grandma's and we hung out in the computer room while Dave Dave played his computer games, and Katie played with his toys. She knows right where to go to get them, she's cute. When everyone left, I did too. It was a boring day, but fun at the same time. I never have anything to do when my Mom's not home. It's not like she's so much entertainment, but the day always seems to drag on forever for some reason lol. And if you're wondering, Katie's on the swing with Ashley, but Ashley told me not to put her on this blog because she was tore up haha. She was relaxing in pj's that day :p

Katie Met A New Friend

Today I had to go take my last final for the semester! My Math test :/ I dropped Katie off at my Mom's like I always do when I have school, and they went to Lowe's with my Aunt Debbie, Jorge, my cousin Ashley, and Aniah, the daugther of their family friend. On my way home from school, they were still at Lowe's! So I picked up Katie because my Mom said it was too hard shopping for their wood with her there. I also brought Ashley with me since she was starving, and I took her to eat. We went back to my Mom's house and hung out until they all got back from the store. When they got to my Mom's, Aniah and Katie played together. Debbie got Katie's cereal puffs out and tried to feed some to Aniah, but of course Katie whined until she got some too lol. So for every piece Aniah got, Katie had to get one too. Babies are so silly. The two girls played together the rest of the time. It was cute watching them. They tried to share cereal with each other, but after they put it next to the other baby's mouth, they'd take it back and eat it themselves...LOL. Too cute. They got Katie's toys out and played together. Aniah was dragging Katie's phone all over the kitchen, it was cute. I can't wait until Katie can walk! It's cute to see Katie playing with kids her age. Aniah is about 1 month older than Katie. I hope they had fun together! :) I tried to take a few pictures, but with two active babies, especially one that walks, these were the best I was going to get :p With Katie staring as Aniah played with her toys...lol.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was laid back and kind of boring. I spent the morning with David and Katie until David went to work. Then I watched my soap opera Days of our Lives, and got Katie ready to go to my Mom's. My Mom wanted me to go to Lowe's with her, so that's what we did. She's fixing up the extra bedroom in her house, which is the computer room to us lol. She's trying to put those sticker wood floor things in, and paint it. She thinks she needs it ready for Katie's birthday, since it's at her house. I keep trying to tell her nobody is going to be wandering into the bedroooms in your house...lol. She wants to make it look nice though, so whatever :p Anyway, we went to Lowe's, and at first Katie was happy. Soon, she did NOT want to be in the cart anymore though, and whined until she was carried :/

After Lowe's we hung out at my Mom's for a while. I started feeling sick and just wanted to lay down :( My tummy was hurting. My Mom took Katie to play outside on the slide she bought her (before she was born! haha) and Katie actually liked it. She was laughing and smiling when she got to the bottom, it was cute. I guess she's getting older now. Before all she could play with were swings. Don't ask me where her other sock is in the picture. I never know what she does with them, but by the end of the day, she usually doesn't have any on anymore lol.

Later Katie played with her toys for a little while, until my Mom took Katie hiking with Mary and David. I would have gone too, but still wasn't feeling good. I was sick until I went to bed that night, and woke up better. Katie had fun hiking. Mary told me David and Katie were playing together afterwards, with blocks. It's cute to watch them grow up and play together. Hopefully Katie will be friends with David and Hannah when they get older. I like hanging out with my cousins, and since she doesn't have a brother or sister right now, her cousins are her best friends :)

Relaxing Sunday

Yesterday was a relaxing day. We hung around the house all morning, watching television and doing nothing. I checked my lottery numbers and saw that I had won $10. I was excited, haha. After that we went to David's Dad's house so he could get a haircut. Katie tried crawling on the table, but couldn't get up, it made me laugh. She's so silly. The entire time we were there she was whining because she wanted in the bathroom where David was doing his hair, but he didn't want her in there since hair was getting all over the place. He closed the door and the whole time she whined about it, kept crawling back to it and seeing it was still closed, and whined some more. She's so weird lol. Cracks me up everyday. When we left his Dad's we tried to call Papa John's, but after being on hold for 10 minutes, they hung up on me! So I called back, and was like, "I was just on hold for 10 minutes and you hung up on me, can I please order my pizza now?" And the lady says they're really busy, and put me back on hold. So we ditched the pizza idea. (I don't know how that place is ALWAYS THAT busy. When we used to get pizza for AI, sometimes it would take 45 minutes for carry-out...) Anyway, we went and cashed my lotto ticket in and went to eat. Because of my winning numbers, we went to Alice's and I only had to pay $8 of my own money lol. It was yummy! I wish I would have won more though! lol. Katie was funny at Alice's. She kept making weird faces and laughing. I caught one of her nerdy faces, and I crack up every time I look at it. I wonder what babies think? Afterwards we came back home to do nothing again. Katie played with her toys, David played his xbox, and I read my new magazine that came in the mail lol. Soon Katie knocked out from not having a nap all day, and David and I watched tv til it was time for bed.

Hiking and American Idol

On Wednesday night my Mom, Mary, Katie, and I went walking on the horse trail. They go there during the week, but it was only my second time. That thing was more than I wanted exercise wise haha. But I'm glad I went. Mary carried Katie in the backpack thingy, and I think she liked it. She was making little noises the entire time lol. I don't know how Mary was able to carry Katie for an hour, I think my back would have broke haha. Katie finally fell asleep about 5 minutes away from the car. Katie sleeping there in the pack was so precious I had to take a picture. She look so innocent, instead of the trouble-maker she is! haha.

After we walked, we went to my Grandma's to watch the American Idol finale. While we were waiting for it to come on we were hanging out talking and stuff. Mary read a book with David, and Katie wanted to be in on it too, but she kept grabbing the book lol. Then they colored together, and Katie was watching them, trying to grab a crayon to eat when no one was watching. She's such a nerd.

I am SO excited that David Cook won. He is good! I can't wait to hear him on the radio. We had so many yummies to eat during the show, I gained all my calories back from walking lol. My Mom bought ice cream cup cakes and dipping dots, and my Grams ordered pizza, yum. It was a good show :) I can't wait until January when the next season starts. I hope next season is a good one!

Hannah, Katie, and Popsicles.

Today while we were at my Grandma's to watch American Idol together (Crossing my fingers for David Cook!), Hannah was there too, since her parents were out together. The girls played a lot today. They crawled around together laughing, and having fun. It's nice to see them growing up and having someone to play with. It was cute to watch. Desiree gave them both a popsicle to eat (they're little mini ones), but first they wanted to see what would happed if there was 1 ice cream, and 2 babies. So they gave one to Hannah, and Katie immediately crawled over to Hannah and tried to lick her ice cream lol. She kept leaning forward with her mouth wide open, sometimes getting it, sometimes not lol. It went on for about 2 minutes before they gave in and gave one to Katie too. They love those things! It's a nice snack on a hot day :)

My Silly Daughter

Today Katie managed to climb on top of my table. She has been climbing up my couch for a while now, since it's low. But today she kept trying to reach the table from the couch, and I got scared she was going to fall down in the space between the two, so I moved the table closer to the couch. I put cereals on there, and she stood on the couch eating her snack. I went to check my mail real quick while she was content by herself. I turned around after a minute, and there she was, sitting on my table. I ran and grabbed the camera before getting her off lol. Good Mom, I know, lol.

David's Dad's 61st Birthday

For David's Dad's birthday, they had a barbeque at Peech's house. The whole family was there: Their Dad (of course), their Mom, Peech, Karin, Karli, Travis, Bobby, Steve, David, Jennifer. He mostly got gift cards for restaurants for presents. Everyone just pretty much hung out there for the day. Katie ate some yummies, including juice (watered down lol) which she loved. And Karin gave her a slice of cheese, but Katie started flinging it around and then she couldn't find it anymore...can you find it on my picture? LOL. Karli and Travis played outside in the water for a while. It was hot! After a while, Katie, Karli, and Travis were all crawling on the floor chasing each other because this is Katie's new favorite game lol. David's Mom had bought Karli some stickers when she came over, and Karli spent the whole day sticking them on people when they weren't paying attention. The whole family had at least 4-5 stickers on their backs by the time I left. Pretty funny. I didn't get too many good pictures, mostly because I feel awkward snapping pictures of people that aren't my family, and David never wants to take any himself, so we never get many pictures when we're with his family lol.

California Adventure

On Saturday my Mom, Mary, Katie, and I went to California Adventure with our Two-fer tickets. It was so hot it was miserable to me! It doesn't seem like there is much to do in California Adventure either, I think I'll stick to Disneyland. When we got there we entered Bug Land, and went on a cute little catapillar ride, and then a swing type of ride where you sit in food boxes, I guess like bugs? lol. That ride made all 3 adults a little dizzy and sick lol. I think I'm getting old, help! :p After the Bug Land, I think the only other ride Katie went on was the Carousel. She went on that twice, she kept smiling and laughing, it was the cutest thing! It would have been a nice, fun day if it wasn't so darn hot I think, but we probably would have mostly just walked around, because Katie couldn't go on much. When we first got there, my Mom bought Katie a cute Minnie hat that she wore for a while to keep the sun off her. Mary bought her an ice cold cherry slushie that Katie drank for most of the day lol. She sat there not really drinking it, but chewing on the cold nipple of the bottle. Before that, she did the same thing with a cold water baba. I think she just liked feeling the coldness, she's silly. Anyway, a few rides later, and some pictures later, we went to go find somewhere to eat. We finally stopped at Coco's twenty minutes from home and had some food. I think that was the most relaxing time of the day. I will never go back to an amusement park in the summer (besides Katie's SeaWorld trip lol), I have learned my lesson.

11 Months!

Katie is 11 months old today. It's hard to believe she'll be one next month. She's still my little baby to me. She has grown so much and made me so proud! She is standing for a long time now, and she is taking steps. I'm pretty sure she will be walking by the time her birthday comes around. I'm excited, for me and for her. I know she will love being able to get everywhere on her feet. She is also climbing up my couch now. I guess it is low enough for her. The other day I turned around and there she was sitting on the couch with the tv remote in her hand haha. I wish I had taken a picture. David and I laughed :) We love all the new things she does, all her expressions, everything. I am so thankful for this beautiful little girl.

My 1st Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was pretty boring. I was so excited for my first one, but I didn't really do much. David took me out to dinner the night before, after we got home from the zoo which was really cute and sweet :) Katie went too, and of course wanted to eat anything of Momma's lol. I gave her bread, some of my baked potato, and some of my water. She sure loves food. It was a nice night out :) Today my Mom worked until 4 pm so I went to hang out with David's family for about an hour and a half until she got off. I bought David's Mom a frame with a picture of Katie in it, wearing a shirt that said "My Heart Belongs to Grandma." It was cute. When my Mom finally called to tell me she was home I went over there. I bought my Mom a cute scrapbook page/frame thing she wanted and put a picture of Katie and me in it. (We had taken the pictures on Friday.) I'll post them as soon as I upload them, I am too tired tonight! She said she liked it though, so that's good. She also bought me pictures funny enough. David and my Mom went halves to get me pictures of Katie and David, with the same dress I wore when I was little, and David dressed the same as my Dad back in the day. White shirt and red tie. I will post those tomorrow too. They came out really cute and Katie's smile is so adorable! David even did a real smile, I was so happy! Hope they liked taking pictures together, because they'll be taking more next month for Father's Day haha. When my Mom got home we went to my Grandma's house so my Mom could give her a Mother's Day present (Tivo) and we just hung out there for an hour and a half or so. My Mom wasn't feeling good so she didn't want to do anything, so I just picked up David from his brother's. We stopped by Cold Stone on the way home and then watched the Survivor Finale. It was such a good season, but I sure was bummed Amanda didn't win. Oh well :/ It was a relaxing day, I just wish my Mom would have wanted to do SOMETHING lol. My first Mother's Day and I didn't even get to go eat somewhere lol. At least David took me out the night before! :) Anyway, I am now exhausted, so I hope you all had a good Mother's Day!

Santa Barbara Zoo

Saturday we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. We've been to the LA Zoo more than a few times, so we wanted to go somewhere new. It was a long drive (an hour and a half about), but it was nice. The second half of the drive was all along the coast so you could see the ocean. It was pretty. David, his Mom, my Mom, Dave Dave, Katie, and I went. We had to take 2 cars. David took his Mom, and the rest went with my Mom. The zoo wasn't very big, but it was big enough. Katie didn't care too much for the animals, but I think she liked being outside and pushed around in her stroller. It was pretty cold there, so soon after we got there I ended up putting Katie in her pajama's. She was wearing a cute new outfit Desiree bought her, before I changed her. The coolest part of the day I think was when we got to feed the giraffes for $4. I didn't get to feed them since I was taking pictures, but both David's did. There was also a small park there for the kids, which Dave Dave loved. He played in there most of the time with my Mom. Katie went down the fake grass hill they had there too, with my Mom and David's help lol. They pulled her down with them, and she laughed and laughed and smiled. It was soooo cute! The fake grass stuff made it really easy to slide down, and all the kids there were enjoying it a lot. The only downside to the day was lunch time. After paying $20 for 2 hamburgers, 2 fries, and 2 cokes, it took us about 45 minutes to get our food. I couldn't believe it! My receipt said I payed at 2:11, and we were done eating at about4. What the heck?! We should have went to McDonald's instead! Or some other fast food joint. Bummer! On the way home we stopped at a fruit stand and my Mom bought strawberries and cherries. We ate some on the way home lol. Katie didn't have much to eat during the day so I peeled a cherry and took the seed out and gave her small bites of it. After she finished it in about 2 seconds, she started yelling for more, lol. I kept peeling and getting the seed out, but after 8 or 9 cherries, my hands were sticky and all I was getting was the cheap dry skin and so I gave up on that and gave her a bottle lol. She was too demanding. She ate them too fast and kept harrassing me for more, haha. It was a fun day though, relaxing.

Another trip to the park

Yesterday my Mom and I took Katie and David to play at the park. This time we went to one Katie hasn't been to yet. I pushed her around in her car car as David ran from one thing to the next. I think he had a lot of fun! I tried to put Katie down a slide, while holding onto her, but she didn't seem too thrilled lol. When she's older she'll have more fun. Towards the end of the trip David and Katie both played on the swings. That's really the only thing parks have for Katie...


On our way to take David back to his house we stopped by Burger King for hamburgers and fries. In the parking lot, there was a small carnival. It only had a few rides so I told David he could pick two to go on, and then we were going home. He picked a moon bounce and the Tilt-A-Whirl. I went on with him and was cracking up. He was holding on so tight his knuckles were just about white haha. He had fun though. He wants his Mom to take him again, lol. I can't wait until Katie is old enough for stuff like that. I would love to take her to do fun things :)

George Lopez

Katie likes the theme song to most shows. But her favorite is the George Lopez theme song, Low Rider. No matter what she's doing, when she hears it, she looks for it and stares intently until it's over. It cracks me up. My Mom had the show tivo'd yesterday, so I kept sneaking the song on while she was playing, and every time she stopped whatever she was doing and turned to the tv so quickly! It made me laugh so much. She's such a silly baby. One time she was laying on the floor and my Mom was tickling her and I put the song on, and her eyes bugged out and she kept trying to pull herself up to see the tv haha. Silly baby <3

3 Steps!

Katie started taking steps today! I'm so excited my daughter is walking!!! My Mom got to see it first since I was at school, but I rushed home and made her "perform" for me too lol. It's so cute! Sometimes she kind of stumbles so it's more like a fall with steps thrown in, but sometimes she does it so perfectly! She does about 3 steps at a time right now. My Mom says she did 4 when I was at school. I'm so sad I missed it! What a bummer! But I did get to see her walking today still, so I can't complain much. I'm just happy, I've been WAITING for her to learn to walk :p I wish I had a picture but I wouldn't have been able to catch it. I do have a video but it's not very good, she kept getting distracted when she saw the recorder :/

Family Day

David and I spent the day together, with Katie of course. It's his day off, so we went out for breakfast/lunch at Alice's after I got off work. Katie had a pancake, toast with jam, and apple juice lol. She likes eating :) We finished eating our food and came home for an hour while Katie napped. Her first nap in 5 days, boy am I excited lol. I took a bath while she was asleep and then we got ready to take her for a walk in her car at the soccer park. I can't remember the name of it right now. We went around the lap once and then Katie started getting fussy so we decided to leave :/ They had signs there saying we walked 2/3 of a mile lol. It was nice outside. We had a good time.

On our way home, David said Cold Stone sounded good, so we went to get ice cream. Now of course all of you with kids know you can't eat anything in front of them, let alone something so yummy! So Katie had a couple bites of my ice cream. I've learned to live with the fact that nothing is mine anymore lol. Katie wants everything and anything I have. I always share with her. Now we're at home for a little bit before we go to David's family's later on tonight for an hour or so. It's just going to be a short visit he said. His Mom is in town and I'm sure she wants to see Katie. She hasn't seen her in about a month now I believe. Nice, relaxing day though. I'm glad David was off today and that we were able to spend it together. I feel like he's always at work!

This Saturday we're going to the zoo with my Mom. I told David we could invite his Mom too since she'll be in town, and hasn't ever gotten to go anywhere fun with Katie, but he's not going for it lol. I think we're going to the Santa Barbara Zoo, so maybe we can stop by the beach on our way home. I'm excited. I hope Katie likes the animals and it's not a repeat of the aquaruim, lol. And then the next day is... My First Mother's Day! How exciting! :)

Vince's Pizza

Today My Mom, Mary, Katie, and I planned on going to a Cinco De Mayo festival at the park, but when we got there we saw that it was $10 to get in, and nothing worth the money. Not even many food carts :/ So we looked for something else to do and decided on Vince's Pizza. It was yummy. Since we didn't have any kids with us this time, we didn't have to hang out in the arcade the whole time giving out quarters lol. We ate pizza, spaghetti, and salad. Katie LOVED the spaghetti. She ate her plate UP. She was so cute :) She did make a big mess, but it was a good time. They have one ride there, so we put her on it with a quarter Mary had before we left. She liked it and smiled while she held on all by herself lol. She is already in bed, she is so tired from the day. After we left Vince's Pizza, we went to my Grandma's to hang out and Mary played with Katie and David. It was a fun day. Relaxing, and I got out of the house lol :)

Another walk?

About an hour after my Mom got home from work today, my Aunt Mary called to ask if we wanted to go walking. She was baby-sitting Hannah and wanted to take her out. My Grandma wanted to go too, so we went around her neighborhood. I was hungry so we walked to Burger King :) My Grandma was acting like a nerd on the way there, I won't even post those pictures, but they sure were funny. She had the funniest socks on LOL. Anyway, during our walk, we found some flowers (as you could see from my pictures a couple posts up) and decided to take some pictures of the kids. It didn't work out as well as we thought it would...lol. But we did get a few cute ones. It was a relaxing trip. David was tired so we did get off to a rough start, but then Mary decided she wasn't going to play his games anymore...lol. She told him "The games are over." To which he replied "The game is not over, you're still watching the show!" LOL. That made me laugh for hours. He's a silly kid. I wonder where he gets this stuff? After we ate we started our walk back home. After an hour with 3 kids, my Grandma insisted on taking a shortcut home...haha. It was fun though, I'm glad I went out with everyone. Katie liked taking 2 walks today and getting out and seeing the town :)

Our morning

This morning Katie and I had nothing to do while David and my Mom were at work. David had just left, and my Mom would be home in 2-3 more hours :/ So I got her ready and we went to hang out at my Mom's until she got home. We took some pictures in her backyard with the outfit she put in Katie's Easter basket last month. It had a matching hat, so I was hoping to get a few pictures of Katie wearing it, before pulling it off like I knew she would lol. I told her, let me get at least one good picture of you, and we can go for a walk in your car car. I thought this one was cute enough for a walk lol. She's a cute little thing :)

We just went up and down my Mom's dead end street a couple times, and up another nearby street. It was nice out. Warm but overcast so the sun wasn't in our eyes, with nice breezes. I like taking her out. I can't wait until she's old enough to play at the park in more than just the swings :p I stopped pushing her for 5 seconds so I could take a picture, and she stood up and started yelling until I pushed her again. This kid cracks me up. I'm surprised she kept that hat on as long as she did. She usually pulls them off after a few short seconds. It was a nice morning though. After our walk I made her a sweet potato pankcake my Mom had, and she ate it up. We played with her toys until my Mom came home finally! :)
