Full Moon Hike

I found out through Facebook that every month on the Saturday closest to the full moon, Devil's Punchbowl does a night time hike for free. We went to go try it out. My Mom had Emma in the back carrier, and Katie was walking by me. Her friend Kayle and her Mom met us there. After walking for a few minutes, Vicki got very behind and since Kayle was sticking with Katie, she ended up being stuck with us. She was worried about her Mom, but a worker was behind with her, so we knew she would be okay. When the hike was over, Vicki still wasn't back, and they sent another worker out there to help them. They had marshmallows and sticks for everyone, so they could roast marshmallows for a small after hike snack, as well as hot cocoa. The kids of course wanted to try it all. Thirty minutes later, we couldn't leave, because Vicki still hadn't returned, and we couldn't just leave Kayle there, so we sat around waiting. She finally made it up, and had some hot cocoa before heading home. It ended up being a long night, haha. Fun though. It was tricky to see in the dark, and they didn't allow flashlights. I think my Grandma had the hardest time. Blake tried using the flashlight on his cell phone for her, but the tour people got annoyed and said no lights please. But, when your Grandma is about to twist her ankle or something, I think you can bend the rules a little, lol. Not sure we'll go again, but it was nice to try it. It was only a short one mile hike.

Emma Jean's Chuck E. Cheese Party

Laura invited me to her daughter's 4th birthday, at Chuck E. Cheese. It was a small party this year, she only invited a few people. She ordered pizza and gave tokens to the kids and they went to go play. My kids had fun =)

Wicked At The Pantages

For Christmas, my Mom had given me tickets to see Wicked with Katie. Since she likes the Wizard of Oz, I thought she might like Wicked. I had never seen it before either. My Mom drove us down there and took Emma to play at the park while we watched the show. We bought snacks and a magnet when we got inside. It was a neat show, but towards the end I could tell it was getting to be too long for Katie. I'm glad we were able to spend time together though, it's nice. I miss that girl a lot since I have to share my attention with Emma now too. She said she did like the show, I think she just wished it was shorter :p She liked Defying Gravity, of course haha. The show's biggest song :p

Julie's Mulligan's Birthday

Katie's Girl Scout friend Julie invited us to her 8th birthday at Mulligan's. We rushed home and took a bath and got dressed after the Color Run to make it in time for the party. Julie's Mom rented the glow in the dark room for the party. It's a neat room. Katie's friend Kayle was also invited, since she's in the troop too. That was fun for Katie, since she was able to have a friend to play with, while Julie was with her family.
 She had a pretty cake,
After the party, the girls were given wristbands and tokens to go play. They did mini golf first.
 Emma kept score.

Katie has been wanting to go on this obstacle course since she saw it being built months ago. She is tall enough and it's finally open. She was so excited.
We also ran into Hannah and Madison there, Madison's friend from school was having a birthday there as well =) Fun day for the girls.

Color Vibe 2015

This was our first event of the new year. We bought tickets a few months ago. Only because it was right here in Palmdale, not because we're addicted or they're so much fun. I mean, they are fun, but this is like our 3rd or 4th one, so, losing excitement haha. The kids had fun though, besides Emma, who did not care for the color on her at all. I stopped going through after I saw that she didn't like it. The older girls liked it though :p

Fun morning out with family! =)

Spelling Bee

Katie was chosen to represent her class in the spelling bee this year. She was the best speller in the class =) Could I bee any more proud?! hahaha. David and my Mom and I came to support her and wish her good luck. She didn't end up winning, because the rules state that if you make a mistake, you can't go back and fix it. So once the wrong letter pops out, too late! She handled it really well though. I was proud of her for not crying like the kids who lost before her did. Such a smart kid. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I'm so grateful for her brain :p

Cookie Kick-Off 2015

The troop attended the Cookie Kick-Off together this year. Gemma has things organized, as our new troop leader. The girls were given a patch for coming, and were able to do crafts at each station. They made a sign to hang when they boothed.
Were given a pizza dinner and cupcake snack, with a Samoa on top, to make it festive ;)
They even made hats to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Samoa.
Some troops made swaps to pass out. This ones were given to Katie from her Cheer coach that she ran into while there. So cute! I wish we would have done that during a meeting one day. Would have been neat to trade around and collect some.
The last station for our group, was the photobooth. So cute! The girls did a great job, and it was fun =) We're getting ready to start selling cookies in 2 weeks!!

Katie's 2nd Grade Project

Katie had a habitat project due for school, so we went over to my Mom's house and she was nice enough to help Katie with it, while I kept Emma distracted, because she really wanted to grab and eat all the pieces. I took her into the playroom and she was playing with the little PlayMobil toys in there.

The project came out really cute. Katie picked a snow leopard, and made the habitat for it. She also presented in it in class. She is so much more outgoing than I was, I was so shy, hated going in front of the class, it would make me nervous for the whole week knowing it was coming up. Katie just goes for it, and does so well. I'm proud of her.

Shooting Range

David took me to the shooting range with him today. I'm not a big fan of guns, but I do like spending time with my husband, and he loves guns :p He was nice enough to buy me my own earphones, knowing I wouldn't want to use his old ear plugs that he reuses. He's sweet, haha. We shot the little gun and the big one. My poor finger got hurt when I was shooting the little one. Apparently, I don't hold it correctly. lol. The big gun was so powerful, knocked my shoulder back every time, haha. I'm too weak for this, but I did enjoy spending time with David and watching him hit his targets. I only hit the targets a few times myself. He's had a lot more practice than me.

Goodbye Blake! (Sorta)

Blake has joined the Army. We were told he was leaving, so my Grandma threw him a goodbye party before he headed off to basic. Except, JUST KIDDING. After we had to whole party and said bye, he ended up not being able to for another month. So we all said bye, had dinner, had cake, and then still saw Blake around the house. Haha. Too funny. He did not get a 2nd party, if you're wondering. LOL. And I'm sure he spent any money he got, before he even left, hanging out with his friends more.

I hope you do well Blake, and stay safe. We all love you very much.

New Year's, American Girl Style

My Mom and I took the kids to the American Girl Place as a Christmas present, on New Year's Day. I figured since the kids are out of school and my Mom was off work, we could go. Holy smokes was it crowded. I had no idea they announce the new Girl of the Year on the 1st. Thank goodness we had lunch reservations, I think that's the only thing that got us in the door without waiting in a 2 hour line. After a cute lunch, the girls got their dolls hair done, and each picked out a new outfit for them.

They must love pink, because they all picked a pink outfit. All different from each other though. It was a nice day. Emma walked around with us, too, and ate See's candy =) Maybe when she's older, she'll get an American Girl Doll too :p For now, she was just running around playing with the girls and looking around the store. Happy New Year, hope it was as nice as ours! =)

Thanks for reading my blog!
