Katie's 8th Party

My beautiful baby girl had her party today. She had a blast! I'm so glad. Every year she tells me "this was the best birthday ever!" haha. That's a good thing to hear, that she loves all her birthdays so much =) The theme this year was Ever After High. She just loves those movies on Netflix. I've watched them with her, they are cute. She's growing up so quickly, but I'm also excited to see the new adventures in her life. She'll always be my baby girl. At her party, everyone had a lot of fun. I was disappointed that we had to have it so early, but it was still fun. I booked the party over a month in advance, but the only time available for a weekend was 9 am. Bummer. I'm thankful for everyone who woke up early to come celebrate with us. It was a good morning, lots of fun. We played and played and jumped and slid and had tons of fun, then we had pizza and cake in another room. Katie got tons of books and presents and gift cards and nice things. She's a lucky girl to have so much family and friends who care about her. Living around all her family is great.

When we got home, Katie and David played with her new chess set. She is so smart, I had no idea how to play when I was her age, and she put it on her wishlist this year. I'm always so proud of her. I like when David and Katie get to spend time together and do something they both like. Watching David play and get along with the girls is one of my favorite things.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I love holidays. They're all awesome, no matter how big or small. I love when Katie's school has dress down days for them too =) I got both girls dressed up in green today, and even gave Katie a few green necklaces to be fancy at school today. She even wore rainbow earrings. She was totally stylin' for the holiday. I wish I could afford to celebrate all holidays in a big way, but for now, I'll do what I can. For dinner I made corned beef, because well, you have to, it's St. Patrick's Day. I put it in the crock pot and the house was smelling delicious. I did not make cabbage, because David said cabbage is so gross, don't make that. But I did make baked potatoes with it haha. I even bought David a really cool cup to surprise him with for the holiday! And we bought green food coloring after school, and had green milk and green beer with dinner. So much fun! =)

New Year's, American Girl Style

My Mom and I took the kids to the American Girl Place as a Christmas present, on New Year's Day. I figured since the kids are out of school and my Mom was off work, we could go. Holy smokes was it crowded. I had no idea they announce the new Girl of the Year on the 1st. Thank goodness we had lunch reservations, I think that's the only thing that got us in the door without waiting in a 2 hour line. After a cute lunch, the girls got their dolls hair done, and each picked out a new outfit for them.

They must love pink, because they all picked a pink outfit. All different from each other though. It was a nice day. Emma walked around with us, too, and ate See's candy =) Maybe when she's older, she'll get an American Girl Doll too :p For now, she was just running around playing with the girls and looking around the store. Happy New Year, hope it was as nice as ours! =)

New Playground

I thought the kids would like to have a playground in the backyard, so I ordered them one for Christmas. It took way longer than expected to put it together, David and Steven were out there for 2-3 days working on it for hours and hours, but didn't have enough time to finish it by Christmas morning, so we had to give it to them a few days late. David told them they forgot to open one of their presents. They seem to like it! I purposely got one with monkey bars, because I know that Katie will soon be too old for a playground, but not too old for monkey bars for a while. Those are fun for older kids too. The clubhouse part of it is pretty cool for her too.

I'm going to have to order a baby swing for Emma to be able to use it.

Pretty cool. Now they can go outdoors and play on the grass we have back there. With the dogs locked up on the side yard, it's perfect =)

Christmas With Daddy

The girls were really good about waiting until Daddy got home to open their stockings and presents. It's nice to have that special family time doing our Christmas together. The girls liked their gifts. I tried really hard not to go overboard this year. I'm slowly realizing they don't NEED 20 new toys.
Possibly because they got to open some last night and this morning, but either way! They did good!

Now it is time to get our butts over to the Wonser Christmas before we're late! :p

My Christmas Gift

One of the great things about being a Mom, is the cute presents they make you for holidays. Katie's class made this cute card holder in school and she gave it to me on Christmas morning. It was my favorite gift. I love that girl so much.

Christmas Morning With Grandma

While David was at work, the girls and I got up early and went to my Mom's house to open the presents she bought the kids. Poor Katie, she always buys her clothes lol.
Emma got a really cool wagon, she likes it!
Santa left Katie a new bike at Grandma's house too. Super fun.
Both lazies fit in the wagon, that's cool ;p Now when Katie gets too tired, she can take a ride lol.
My Mom bought me a vacuum this year, I guess that means I'm truly an adult now, right? haha. It was a good morning! =)

Christmas Eve 2014

Almost the whole family came for Christmas Eve this year. That's nice for my Grandma, I know how much she likes it when everyone is able to spend time with her. It was fun for the kids too, they were playing together all night. Katie is always happy when Desiree's kids are down visiting. Even little Emmie tried to join in on the fun :p

Katie got so many cool presents from everyone. She loved everything!

Emma liked her stuff too. Tea party set, dollies, all kinds of goodies. It's cute how they already know how to open the presents at this age. She was excited.

My Grandma- I love her. lol.
Lauryn and her family stopped by after church for a little bit. She got a really big make up case, because we all know her. haha :p
It was really nice hanging out with everyone and watching the kids play and open gifts. They're so funny. I treasure them all. I love Christmas so much, it's nice when so much of the family is around.

Bob's Birthday

After so many March birthday dinners, Bob decided to do his a week later, in April. We had dinner and cake at Lynn's house. Nice, relaxing night. Hopefully he had a nice time =)

We also were surprised with two announcements! Bobby and Christy are getting married next year, and Michal and Kelly are getting married next week! They are also expecting their first child together! =) Congratulations to all 4 of you!
