Trailer Park Boys

I bought David tickets to see the Trailer Park Boys for Christmas this year. I think it may have been his favorite present. He loves this show. This is the first time they've been out here to California, so when I saw they were on sale, I had to buy them for him. He was so surprised when he opened it =) We went together tonight and enjoyed a date night together. Super bummed now that I realize we didn't take any pictures together. We got there early and had dinner at KFC, just because it was close by and we didn't want to get lost or take too much time eating. Then we went next door to a little bar so David could order a drink while we waited for the theater to open. The show was really funny. The audience was raunchy, the actors were surprised at how all their jokes were turning when they had audience participation. I guess they didn't know how LA would be lol. The actors are from Canada, where the show is filmed. I laughed a lot, even though I don't watch the show, it was still funny to watch them on stage. And it was nice to spend time with David doing something that made him happy =)

Pearblossom Park

Laura invited Emma and I to go play at the park by her house while we wait for Katie to get out of school. It's a little far, but not too bad, and this way she's not always the one driving out for visits. I know it must be hard on her living so far from town right now.

Laura packed a few snacks for the girls when they got bored or tired from playing.
It was a nice day, but the kids didn't seem to want to play on the playground for very long. We ended up just walking around, til they sat by the baseball field and on their benches lol.

100 Days Of Second Grade

Katie's school celebrates the 100th day of school every year, by holding a parade and releasing 100 balloons into the sky. This year, Katie was able to be in the parade as a Cheerleader. I think only the Cheerleaders and Kindergartners participate in the parade, while everyone else watches.
Of course she was her usual fun self during the parade haha.
She was so beautiful in her outfit. I was so thankful I was able to do a decent pony haha. I tried to curl it, but for some reason, it never stays very long, even though I use hairspray. I suck at doing hair =/
Katie and some of her friends.
I'm always thankful I'm about to make it out to these things to support Katie. Thankful to David for working so hard to allow me to do these things for our kids. It really does make Katie feel better to see Emma and I there watching her at her events. I love that girl so much.

Ashley's Bridal Shower

My cousin Ashley is getting married! We went to her bridal shower today in her new house she's going to share with her husband after the wedding. It's a nice cozy house, close to the family. There was only one other kid there, so my kids didn't have anyone to play with, which was a bummer. I thought Hannah and Madison would be there. Oh well.
 Custom m&m's ;)

The kids found some chalk to play with, that kept them busy for a while, drawing pretty pictures on the ground. After, Katie and the other girl, Aniah, played on a tablet for a bit, while Emma sat with me. At least they were being entertained :p

It was a pretty shower, I'm glad I was able to make it to help support my cousin for her big day. She's a nice girl. I can't wait to go to the wedding next month!

Valentine's Day

This year on Valentine's Day, David had work, so the kids and I were alone for the first half of the day. We celebrated early this morning with some heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, yum!
I asked my Mom to watch Emma and I took Katie to see the new Spongebob movie. Emma and my Mom went on a walk around her neighborhood and played on the swing in her backyard. Katie and I had an Icee and popcorn and enjoyed the movie. There were tons of kids there, it was packed. I was surprised so many people spent Valentine's Day with their kids lol. I always thought it was a couples holiday. We all had a nice morning.
Katie and I had also planned to surprise David with a pink/red heart meal tonight. We bought cookie cutters and were thinking about doing heart shaped burgers or heart meatballs and spaghetti or something, with pink milk (food coloring) and heart straws and a Valentine tablecloth. But then David surprised us! He brought home take out food and balloons and cards for us. Katie set the table and we enjoyed our family dinner together. It was nice. David and I aren't too big on Valentine's Day, but we do like to do something. Having the kids around is fine with me =) I gave David a gift card for a massage, he loves those. He also won $20 on some scratchers I stuck in his bag. Pretty cool =) Thankful for our family!

Izzy's Birthday Party

Katherine invited us down for her daughter's birthday this weekend. She lives in Huntington Beach now, so it was a bit of a drive, but way nicer than when she lived in Washington! haha. Laura was invited too, so she was going to meet us out there. It's nice to go to a party, and know someone there that you can talk to, besides the busy host :p
Their little picnic table for the kids in the back is so cute. The kids had fun playing with each other, though there were a few sharing problems, since there was only 1 car and 1 bike, and lots of little girls around lol. Plus the tiny owner wasn't too fond of other kids playing with her stuff either. Eventually the kids found the upstairs bedroom with the toys in it. Emma tried to go with them, but got distracted by how fun the stairs were. She wanted to go up and down and up and down, and eventually fell and almost rolled down a bit =( Thankfully Katherine's husband caught her. I sat next to her on the stairs after that, wishing they had a baby gate lol. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, too nervous with her climbing, and Laura and I walked our kids to the park right down the street, where we parked our cars. They played for a good thirty minutes before we drove home. It was nice out.

Penny Wars

It's time for the Penny Wars at Katie's school. She's been saving up pennies around the house for months now, waiting for this. Her school does it every year, and donates the money to a charity. The pennies go into our own classroom to give you points, and the silver coins are to sabotage the other classrooms. They get passes when they come to school in the morning, and are given 15 minutes to go to other rooms and sabotage them before class. Katie and Abby went together since they're in the same class.

Katie's Cooking Class

Every year, Katie's school does Winter Clubs. Katie always wants to do cooking class, but it always fills up so fast, she's never been able to do it before. I would go in the next morning to sign her up, and it would already be full. This year I got smart and kept money in my car so that when she would get the flyer, we could go in and sign her up right away. Turns out, they made 2 cooking classes this year anyway, so she probably would have gotten a spot regardless. This way she was able to pick which teacher she wanted it with though, and she picked her first grade teacher, Mrs. O. The classes are 8 weeks long, and are after school once a week until 4:15. Since David gets off work at 4 now, he picks her up from school for me on these days. Everyone in the class ate their snack/project in class, but Katie saved hers so she could show me. She is too cute and sweet. This was the only time she saved it, because later on she'll be making ice cream and things that can melt, and I told her that's fine, she can eat it with all her friends, but she always told me all about her creations when she got home. This one, was for Groundhog Day. Haha. So cute.

Father Daughter Photos

Apparently, David tried to surprise me with some pictures a few weeks ago, of he and Emma, to recreate the ones we have of me and my Dad, and David and Katie. Well......it didn't go as planned I guess, since Emma cried and cried without me there, lol. So I scheduled another appointment and went with them. This time they came out much better! The worker was still trying to talk me into buying the old ones of her crying too, but she's crazy lol. I bought the ones of her smiling with Daddy so I could frame them with Katie's =) They came out really cute!

Here's a side by side of the ones of Katie & Emma with their Daddy. Katie was just under a year here, and Emma is now 17 months, so we weren't as on top of it as I'd like, but as long as the dress still fit, I say we made it! haha.

It's That Time Again!

It's Girl Scout Cookie season! Whoever thought to have the start date on the same day as the Superbowl is crazy. Half the people didn't want to walk away from the game long enough to answer the door, or they couldn't even hear the door because their tv was so loud lol. Bummer. We did not sell a lot on our first day. At least we got started though. Katie's goal is 500 again, let's see how we do.

Thanks for reading my blog!
