Time For A Treat

When we want out of the house, and we don't really have anywhere to go, going out for a treat is usually a good choice!

Happy Birthday GeeGee!

My family celebrated my Grandma's birthday at Don Cuco's.

I'm sure she liked having all the great grandkids around for her special day, I'm glad Desiree was able to come visit. =)

Santa Clarita Park

My Mom and Mary wanted to take Sam somewhere while he's down visiting, so we drove to Santa Clarita to play at a park the kids have never been to. It was nice for them to get out and play for a few hours.

Queen Mary With Desiree & Kids

So apparently my Mother's Day dinner on the Queen Mary was a hit! So much in fact, that my Aunt wanted to take her daughter to eat there too while she was down visiting. This time we chose to do the buffet thing, since it's half the price and there were a lot of people going. It was a Champagne Brunch, but of course, my family turned down the champagne.

After lunch, we walked around the Queen Mary so Desiree could look around and so the kids could get some energy out before getting back in the car.

Just Another Day At GeeGee's

It's always nice to be able to drive over to my Grandma's when we're bored and see what the other kids are up to and give Katie someone to play with.

David was off to spend time with his Dad today. Hope they have fun!

Chalk

I really enjoy lazy days where Katie and I can just play together and do what we'd like. Today we went out to the front yard and drew with chalk for a bit. Easy fun.

She's awesome. Love how well she writes my name ;)

Cubbie Graduate

Every Wednesday (or at least most of them), my Mom takes Katie to church with her, and Katie goes into the kid's program "Awana", Katie's class at Awana is "Cubbies" based on her age group. When she says her memory verse, she gets a patch. This week they did an award ceremony for the kids, so that they can go to the next highest class when summer is over. Well, after summer, Katie's age would put her right back into Cubbies for another year. But it's still exciting to be on stage, right?

Katie was given this little cub to attach to her vest for the next year. She was excited.

Good job on remembering your memory verses, Katie!

Silverstrand Beach

While Katherine is down visiting California, she's noticing the closest Navy bank is over an hour away. She needs to make a deposit, but does she really want to drive all that way, just to drop off a check? Easy way to get company, have a fun day out, and get your errand done? "Hey Heather, want to go to the beach with me? I just have to make one quick stop on the way.." haha. Sure! So I meet her at her house and we head towards the beach! Apparently this is a beach where she grew up just down the street. I've never heard of it before now, but it was nice and small and not a lot of people were there, and that's always good. We stopped at Subway on the way up to grab lunch.

Then it was time to play play play!

Love this girl so much. It's always more fun when she's in town. She likes doing all the Mommy things with me, I love it!

We dug a big hole. And then I thought, hey Katie, get in there. And buried her.

What I didn't know, was that I wouldn't be able to just pull her out. Nope. The sand made her stuck. So, I had to dig her out. Good thing she's got spirit and can laugh about it. Not sure what I would have done if she started freaking out on me! Luckily it took me less than 3 minutes to get her out.

If you ever wonder if your kids had a fun time, a good way to tell is to look in the backseat on the way home. If after a few minutes of driving, your child looks like this:

Then I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to say they had fun. <3>

Hiking

My Mom likes to take Katie on fun trips when I have class. Fair? Depends on how you look at it I guess, haha. Katie is lucky to be doing fun things, but Mommy is bummed to be missing it :p

But then when I see photos like this, I think "maybe I am glad I wasn't there" haha. She got tired apparently.

Was able to get to the top and finish.

But wasn't able to get back down without help :p

Dinner Date With the Girls

Whenever Katherine and I are like, "lets go to dinner together!" the girl always wants Red Robin. So, there we went! Laura was coming to meet us too, so our girls played in the cars until she arrived. It's nice to spend time with your friends, esp when they're all Mom's too.

We all went to the cupcake shop in town for dessert. Katherine's never been there and wanted to try it. Not saying they're worth $3.50 each, but they are as yummy as any cupcake, and easy to grab if you just want one and not a whole batch.
