Thankful In Washington Day 8, Going Home

We left Saturday morning to go back to California. It's never going to be easy saying bye to David. I'm going to miss him every day.
The scenery was pretty to look at on the drive home.
Katie was a model kid, once again. She played her games, slept, didn't cry or anything. I'm so proud of her for doing so well trapped in a car for so long.

The drive home was a little scary. When we drove through Sacramento, the fog was so bad I could barely see the car in front of me. I was driving nicely along, going very slow while my Mom tried to sleep, but as soon as she noticed the fog, her sleeping went out the window. All she did was harrass me to be careful the rest of the way through Sacramento until the fog lifted and I was able to drive more than 5mph. We had every intention of pulling over and getting a hotel for the night, like we did on the way up. But when we were 3 hours from home at 10pm, we were too tempted to just drive straight home, into our own comfy beds, and knowing we would be able to sleep in and be lazy all of Sunday if we did. Temptation won. It felt so good to crash in my own bed.

Thankful In Washington, Day 7, Black Friday

Today we wanted to go see Seattle before we had to head back to California. The only problem, we didn't think about Black Friday. Crowds, ahh! While we waited to leave, we decided to be cute and take some pictures together.

The streets were so pretty at night.
We found the very first Starbucks and HAD to go there.

My Mom bought mugs for my Aunt and herself.
Mugs that say, The FIRST Starbucks! lol.
I bought a Caramel Brulee, but my picture came out blurry =/
We had fun walking around Seattle, but we didn't buy anything on Black Friday except for lunch and coffee, lol. It was nice to get out and explore though. I'm sad this is my last night with David. I'm going to miss him terribly. We probably won't see each other again until he gets out in June. 7 more months, I can do this. =(

Thankful In Washington Day 6, Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for my husband, and the opportunity to visit him.
I'm thankful for my daughter, she is my biggest blessing.
I'm thankful for my Mom, who is always there for me.
 I'm thankful for my house.
My car.
The rest of my family.
My friends.
The trips and places I'm able to take Katie to.
My job.
I'm thankful the food came out good on the first Thanksgiving dinner we had without either of our large families.

When my Mom and I went shopping for everything, we decided to get a bag to put the turkey in. David told me that it's going to melt to the turkey and ruin it, but trusted me enough to try it anyway. After dinner was over, he said it was delicious and moist and yummy, because of the bag! Dork. I love him.

My Mom, Katie and I played Monopoly Jr. we bought at a Goodwill for $2 yesterday, while the food cooked.
This was for my Mom lol.
David likes his Mom's Cranberry Fluff, so she gave me the recipe to make it for him.
 Mashed taters.
My Mom's plate. She's a vegetarian, so no turkey for her :p
 Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful In Washington Day 5

My Mom and I spent the day shopping for Thanksgiving dinner for tomorrow. I also went to a few stores and bought frames and printed pictures so I could decorate David's room a little :p He had pictures I've sent him in the mail, but didn't have any frames to hang them up. We also grabbed Monopoly Jr. so we could play with Katie tomorrow while the food's cooking. Pretty calm day. It rained so we treated ourselves to Starbucks =) I don't know how people live here all year long with this weather! Too gloomy for me. Then at night David, Katie and I went to grab Panda for dinner and just watched tv together. I missed him so much, it's horrible not being able to live with him. Sometimes I regret not going with him, but I'm also thankful we have our house and life in Palmdale that he can come back to when this is all over. Less than a year, I'm so happy!

Thankful in Forks, Washington Day 4

My Mom, Katie and I drove up to Forks, Washington while David went to work. It was a lot farther than I thought it would be, about a 3 hour drive from David's apartment. But so cool to be able to go! We stopped in Port Angeles first, just because it was closer.
We saw Bella Italia, it wasn't as fancy as I pictured it :p We wanted to eat there, but it didn't open until 4pm, and that was hours away.
It was sooo green! And overcast.
We finally arrived! Pretty cool picture opportunities around the town. We were able to take a picture near the city sign, the truck she drove in the movie, they even had the truck described in the book. The prom dancing scene thing, the high school, lots of stores with souvenirs as well. The only disappointment going to Forks, was that the movie was not actually filmed in Forks. So all the sights we saw, were sights from the book, but not what we all saw in the movies, which would have been a little cooler in my opinion. The town did a really good job of making it for tourists though, having the houses they lived in and everything on  a map for us to drive around and take pictures with.

We ended the night stopping by La Push Beach. This is supposedly the log they always sit on when they talk. Like I said, they set it up pretty cool for tourists. I wish we would have gotten here earlier, I underestimated by time and by the time we got there the sun was already going down =/ Super cool day though. I'm glad I was able to see it =)

Thankful In Washington Day 3

My Mom and I hung out driving around during the day, and then David and I took Katie to a Children's Museum after he got off work.
There were some cool things to play with.

I love my singer. She is so talented.
Time for a costume change before the next song.
 Katie's audience
Driving David around to deliver milk.
 My doctor. Saving lives.

Thankful In Washington Day 2

The next morning we were on our way again. We made it to Oregon and stopped for lunch.
Just a pizza place we drove by.
They had a big fire in the middle of the room that we sat by.
Thank goodness for her MobiGo. It has kept her nicely entertained through this long road trip.

We finally made it to Washington, and even in time for dinner!
No more driving! For at least a few days ;p
When Katie and I got to David's apartment, he had surprises for both of us. So sweet of him. I love him so much!
I think Katie's eyes grew twice their size when she saw this candy bar! lol

Thanks for reading my blog!
