Karaoke and S'mores

My little nosy girl was checking out the backyard today, since she can reach when she stands on the treadmill. She is so funny.
Katie played with the new karaoke machine Desiree gave her for her birthday today, so far we only have 2 songs, I have to figure out how to add more or buy another cd or something for it. Katie has always had a passion for singing, so this was a cool gift.
When it got dark, David set the bon fire up for us in the backyard. I love when he does that for us. We all made s'mores and they were delicious.I bought 4 metal sticks from Target for $1 each, to roast the marshmallows on, pretty good deal. Emma was making me a little nervous, but Katie is a pro by now. So yummy! Summer nights are so relaxing and wonderful. Now if only the summer days weren't so hot.

Shakey's Pizza Inside Out

Mary invited us for lunch today at Shakey's Pizza, yum. She tried to save us money by bringing toys so they wouldn't keep asking for quarters to play haha. She brought play-doh and dolls and everything. It kind of work though! lol. After lunch, we went to see Inside Out, finally! I've been waiting to see it, it looked so cute. And it was totally adorable. It was a good day today! =)

Night Swimming At Drytown

We decided to go night swimming tonight at Drytown, since they offer it on most Friday nights during the summer. We quickly regretted it after seeing how incredibly crowded it was though. We could barely move in the Lazy River without bumping into someone. We stayed for maybe 45 minutes and then took off, wasn't worth it with the crowd. The kids had a fun time while it lasted though, it's always nice to cool down for a bit :p Not sure we'll be back for the night swimming anymore, now that we know what to expect, haha. Bummer!

Girl Scouts At Disneyland

The Girl Scout troop decided to go to Disneyland for their reward selling cookies. Since we were going to meet early at 9am when it opened, I got a hotel for the night so we wouldn't have to wake up at 6 and drive in the morning. I wanted Katie to be fresh and have a fun day. Too bad she had an earache all night and a bad night's sleep, just like me.She was up most of the night. I warmed up a washcloth for her like Google said, and she was able to fall asleep for a couple hours thank goodness. My Mom came the next morning to pick up Emma and take her to the beach.
Katie and I got there and rode the tram to Disneyland and met up with our group.

The first thing they wanted to do was eat breakfast.
Then it was time for the big kid rides. Katie's first time on Indiana Jones! She loved it!

The girls each bought an autograph book and got a few signatures throughout the day =)

At night we watched the parade, but we didn't get good seats. We were still able to see it though, and it was so pretty and cool. It was the new light show. When we were leaving at night, we just happened to be going out right as the second parade was going, and we got a front row spot to watch half the parade. Pretty neat! I had a great day spending time with Katie. We don't get to do that too much now that I have 2 kids, and I know it will be even harder when I have 3, so we enjoyed our day together today. She's such a special girl. I love her.

Surprising Father's Day

This year on Father's Day, I made an announcement on Facebook. David, Katie, and I have been keeping a secret for a few months. The girls are going to have a little brother this year! I found out I was pregnant on Easter and wanted to wait until the first trimester was done before telling anyone. Then, we figured we should wait until I found out the sex of the baby before telling anyone. At an appointment I had a few weeks ago, I was told that it was a boy, but just to be safe, the technician told me she is 80% sure and not to take it for 100% just yet. Then the other day, at my appointment, they said it is definitely a boy, and showed me proof on the ultrasound. I'm kind of nervous to have 3 kids, because 2 is already so much work, but it's going to be exciting and it's going to be fun, and we're all going to love him so much. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I have no experience with boys, so we'll see how I do! I'm good at Princesses and tea parties, now I have to learn some new tricks. David is super happy to have another boy in the house with all our drama girls.
Now for Father's Day. We spent it with David's family like we do every year. They had a bbq at Michael's house. Emma was chowing on the ribs! I'm glad she likes meat. David told his family about the baby in person, before I posted it. I had already told my Mom a few days ago. David's family is almost all girls too, so this boy will be a nice change from the many girls we all have. I'm sure he'll end up playing dolls eventually though, being so surrounded haha. Here's to the future! Wish us luck! We're going to be outnumbered now!

Katie's 8th Party

My beautiful baby girl had her party today. She had a blast! I'm so glad. Every year she tells me "this was the best birthday ever!" haha. That's a good thing to hear, that she loves all her birthdays so much =) The theme this year was Ever After High. She just loves those movies on Netflix. I've watched them with her, they are cute. She's growing up so quickly, but I'm also excited to see the new adventures in her life. She'll always be my baby girl. At her party, everyone had a lot of fun. I was disappointed that we had to have it so early, but it was still fun. I booked the party over a month in advance, but the only time available for a weekend was 9 am. Bummer. I'm thankful for everyone who woke up early to come celebrate with us. It was a good morning, lots of fun. We played and played and jumped and slid and had tons of fun, then we had pizza and cake in another room. Katie got tons of books and presents and gift cards and nice things. She's a lucky girl to have so much family and friends who care about her. Living around all her family is great.

When we got home, Katie and David played with her new chess set. She is so smart, I had no idea how to play when I was her age, and she put it on her wishlist this year. I'm always so proud of her. I like when David and Katie get to spend time together and do something they both like. Watching David play and get along with the girls is one of my favorite things.

Fruit Snack

Every time I go to the grocery store, I now have to buy an even number of peaches. Emma always wants her own when I eat mine. Glad she likes them, but wish she didn't always take my fruit :p She's a cute little booger. I love her.

Welcome To Discovery Cube

We had to go to the dentist, yet again, for the last time. Katie was given her last filling this morning, a total of 4 altogether. Katie did really good and was brave, the dentist gave her a sticker book like he promised, and all was well. It was nice of Jennifer to get us in! Since we had to make the drive anyway, I googled and found somewhere fun to take the girls after the appointment. The tickets for Discovery Cube were on sale for $10/person, so I figured why not give it a try.
We stopped by the little kid area first, since it was right when we walked in the door. They had a Clifford set up, it was cute. The kids played on the slide and with the blocks and things.

There were a lot of different sections of the museum, but I think the grocery store was the favorite. The carts had little computer screens on it with a game to get ingredients for a party, picnic, etc based on calories, or healthiness, or economy. You push your cart around and beep the correct price tag. At the end you "checkout" and it tells you your score and if you pass the level. It was pretty cool. Very crowded, but pretty cool. We played many times lol.

Apparently it was lots of fun, because not long after leaving the parking lot, both of my kiddos were knocked out sleeping =) I'm glad they had a fun day. Hard to watch both at such different ages, because they both want to do their own things, but we managed and had a good time together. The only bad thing was the lunch. All healthy organic and not so tasty haha. Plus expensive.

Thanks for reading my blog!
