Fourth, Fun, Fireworks

My family doesn't care for fireworks very much, so we hung out with them during the day. We went swimming at Drytown and the kids enjoyed playing together. It was a nice morning. Hot, but fun.

After swimming, we went home and I got my kids ready in their holiday outfits. Katie likes picking hers out now, but I'm still able to choose what I want for Emmie. Her little jellies are so easy and match almost everything. Love those shoes. Katie is all about flip flops. Loves them. She would wear them everyday if she was allowed to.

We headed to Bobby's house where the girls played with their other cousins now. My husband brought his dogs, hoping they wouldn't be as scared of the noise if they were out with him. Unfortunately Bobby also has dogs and they didn't get along so well, so they stayed separated the rest of the night.

I love every holiday, I don't discriminate, so I had a good time. I know fireworks are expensive these days, and they only last a few seconds, but my kids are happy and I'm happy. We're having family time and we're outdoors, the kids were given 4th of July themed popsicles. What more could you need? =)

Night Swimming At Drytown

We decided to go night swimming tonight at Drytown, since they offer it on most Friday nights during the summer. We quickly regretted it after seeing how incredibly crowded it was though. We could barely move in the Lazy River without bumping into someone. We stayed for maybe 45 minutes and then took off, wasn't worth it with the crowd. The kids had a fun time while it lasted though, it's always nice to cool down for a bit :p Not sure we'll be back for the night swimming anymore, now that we know what to expect, haha. Bummer!

Summer Swimming

Sleeping in is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. Katie asked for this pillow at the store the other day, and she's putting it to good use haha. Not for sitting up and reading, but for sleeping in comfortably. She's so cute.
When we all got up for the day and had breakfast, we headed to Drytown with Anthony and his kids. A nice way to cool down for an hour. It's always more fun when people join us at Drytown than going alone, so it's awesome when the girls are free to swim with Katie. I like her to have fun and enjoy herself as much as she can, and it's always good to have play dates and friends. Emma is obsessed with the floats this year, and she always wants one, even if it's only for a little bit.

Drytown Twice

I took the kids to Drytown again today. Just the 3 of us for an hour. Emma got her shades on and off we went. I bought both of the girls covered up bathing suits again this year, I really like them. They not only cover their bodies from peepers, lol, but also protects them from the sun. We ended the swim with Dippin' Dots, because my kids love ice cream! :p

Drytown Is Open

Katie always gets so excited when Drytown opens for the summer. I always try to take her on the first day it opens, if we're able. My Mom went too, and it was a lot of fun. We didn't stay too long, because Emma is so little and I'm scared of the kids getting burnt from being in the sun too long. We usually stay between an hour or two when we go. Afterwards we went to try the new pizza place Katie has been asking to go to, Pizza Rev. We each got our own pizza, except for Emma who shared a slice of mine. They're pretty good. Thin, but you get to pick all the toppings you want. Not that we pick a lot, since we're all pretty plain and simple LOL. Yogurtland next door is also new, so we tried that too! Ended the day and went home, Emma so tired she fell asleep on me. It was a long day, but we all had a great time.

Plains, GA

We woke up and  drove and drove and drove around all day long looking for something to do on our free day. My Mom texted us and told us about Plains, GA where Jimmy Carter grew up. It was literally the only thing we could find to do out there, without driving 2 hours to Atlanta, which none of the adults wanted to do (except me!!). So we went to see the peanut land, lol.

We found a big peanut to take photos with, and that was pretty much the highlight of our day, LOL. The little store also sold peanut butter ice cream and little things like that. It was cool for an hour, but that was our whole day, so kind of a bummer. We also went to a new fast food place (new to us) called Checkers. It was alright. My Grandma tried peach cobbler and did not care for it at all.

My poor kids were so bored driving around all day, hardly stopping or doing anything =/ They fell asleep in the car every day we were in Georgia =/

My Grandma found a Krispie Kreme while we were driving around, so we stopped there. They accidentally gave her 2 boxes of doughnuts because of a special that was going on, that she didn't participate in though, and she ran off so fast before they could realize she was only supposed to get one box. She ran away so fast she almost got into a strangers car, hahaha. We were cracking up at her.
They also stopped at Wal-Mart and bought pillow cases and stuff for the plane ride back. My Grandma accidentally bought a body pillow case though, hilarious. She was just buying anything.
Huge watermelons were being sold out of a truck, of course they wanted to try one.

Finally before bed, we all got ready to go in the covered hot tub they had downstairs, because it was raining and the pool probably would have been cold. When we got downstairs we realized the only thing covered was a picnic table. LOL. We all went back up and changed into our pj's. Funny, boring, long day.

Swimming With Jaren

I used the last of my free Drytown tickets today to let Jaren in to swim with us. Katie and Jaren plan to get married one day, when they're much older. Jaren already calls Katie his wife, and Katie says that he will probably be her boyfriend when she gets bigger. Haha. As long as he's nice to her, it's okay with me :p The kids had a lot of fun swimming. Katie even played with the squirt gun things, which she never does, because she hates water in her face. I was so proud of her for being brave today and having fun =)

Thanks for reading my blog!
