Total Boring Week

We didn't do much this week. I went to my Mom's a few times, went to my Grandma's. Just hung out. My friend Laura had a bbq Wednesday night and my Mom watched Katie for us and we got to have a night out with friends. That was fun. David and I took Katie in her car around the walking park the other day, I think she liked getting out. She wanted to walk with me for a little bit, so I let her, and when she got tired she hopped into her car car. It was a nice day out, I'm glad we took her. This morning I took her to the Friday Fun class in our town. They made stress balls today, I'm not sure why since it's a kid class lol. But it was still fun. I had to make it since Katie's too little, and she played with it for about 5 minutes and then dropped it on the floor lol. But she did enjoy snack time with cheese fish crackers and juice lol. She sure loves to eat! I like taking her there so she can play with other kids, but she's too shy and she gets bullied by the other kids lol. Even the other 1 year olds push her down, it's sad :/ She needs to toughen up! lol. Tomorrow we're going to a little girl's birthday that was from my class at work. She's turning 5, should be fun :)

Katie's 12 Month Check-up

Yesterday Katie had her 12 month check-up at Kaiser.

She had 3 shots, and blood drawn :( I felt so sad for her I couldn't even watch them drawing her blood. I made David be the one that holds her down for them, and I hid behind the wall lol. It was too sad! I couldn't get a good picture, because the kid is wild and wiggles too much, but I tried. Every time we go to Kaiser for her check-ups they give her a new book. Today they gave her one that she can feel. It has a soft duck, a bumpy frog, a fluffy bird, stuff like that. It's cute. She's been carrying it around all day, she's so cute. She now weighs 21.4 lbs, and is 30 inches tall. She's growing up! She walks all over now. She can even stand up without holding on to anything, it's cute. Tomorrow we're going to try a kids group with Mary. She takes David every Friday, and I think I'm going to take Katie too tomorrow, to see if we like it. My Mom and I are also going to Drytown tomorrow (with Katie of course) on her lunch break. Should be a fun morning. I always feel bad when Katie's cooped up in the house all day, so I try to take her somewhere every day, even if it's just to my Mom's or Grandma's. I love her more and more everyday. David and I just look at her, and we're like wow, she's so beautiful and cute. We both smile when we watch her toddle around the house. It's adorable :)

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day, David slept in and enjoyed his morning. I gave him his present (concert tickets) and we got ready to spend the day with his family. We went to his Dad's house and hung out there until night. They made tacos and watched some weird show about a serial killer or something for hours!!! lol. Katie and Karli played together most of the day. Karli kept trying to pick Katie up and carry her, and Katie looked scared every time haha. It was funny. At night the boys played basketball together (David and his 3 brothers). Father's vs. the other 2 lol. It was David's day so I hope he had fun. I like seeing him happy.

Katie's Birthday

In the morning we went to Drytown for fun. My family came and we had fun for an hour before we went home and got ready to be cute for the party :p My Mom decorated her house so cute for Katie's Little Mermaid party. Everything came out good :) We played a couple games, most of them made me laugh lol. But they were fun. Thank you Mom for everything, thank you Mary for the pinatas and helping out, and thank you Desiree for decorating. It came out nice :) Katie's whole family showed up except for the few who had to work, and some of my friends came too. It was a fun day. Katie loved all the attention she got, and Karli had fun winning all the prizes. She was the only little girl so she won everything. I'm sure she loved that. Katie was pretty in her dress, but she got dirty fast! I bought her 2 cakes, one from Cold Stone for everyone, and one just for Katie. I thought she would have really dug into it, but she didn't do herself justice lol.

Happy Birthday Katie!!!

My little girl is one today. Time flies. I can't believe she's growing up. I love her so much. More and more everyday. She's learning so many new things, and I love watching her do them all. I remember being in the hopsital a year ago, wondering what I was doing, 20 years old with a crying little girl. But I'm getting the hang of this parenting thing. I think. She's brought so much happiness into our lives. Smiles everyday and melts my heart. She's off of formula now. She has enough for one more bottle. Then it's toddler food. I wanted her to walk by the time her birthday came around SO BAD, and now she's doing it! She toddles to where ever she wants to go, and it makes me smile every time. She's growing up so fast, but I don't want to stop time like most people say they wish they could. I'm exciting to see all her new stages coming up. I want the moments where she asks for every toy she sees at the store, where she can tell me what kind of a birthday party she wants, when she has her own opinions lol. (I might change my mind when the time comes and she's a bratty opinionated girl, but for now, I'm waiting for it lol). I love her more than I could ever imagine. I remember the first two months of her life where we had the wrong formula for her, and it was miserable. I remember how excited I was the first time she crawled. When she said mama, I didn't know if she was really saying it or not, but now I know she knows who I am lol. Walking I think was the biggest milestone for me. I was soooo excited!! Now she gets everywhere. She has made my life so difficult, and so exciting and loving all at the same time. I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life being her Mommy <3

DryTown

Yesterday we took Katie to DryTown for the first time, the small local water park we have here. She loved it! My Mom bought me a season pass for Christmas, so we decided to take Katie. We took her again today, but I forgot my camera today. She played in the kid area yesterday for a little while, and I took her on the slide. We didn't like that much, water was in our face the entire time. But after we went around the lazy river and she liked that a lot. My Mom, my Grandma, and I took turns holding her as we went around and around it lol. It was fun. Today we went back and brought Dave Dave and Hannah and my Aunt Mary came too. Hannah loved it too, and of course David did. He went all last summer too. It was a fun 2 days over there, and we're going back on Saturday for Katie's birthday, but I'm sure I'll be there before that too lol. Most of my family has season passes now, so I'm glad we can all go together :) I need to get a bag to put everything in when we go. Towels, hair brush, sunblock, ect. I have a lot of things to bring with a baby, and myself who doesn't like looking too tore up in public lol.

What A Stinker

The other day, I don't know how, but somehow she got ahold of my purse when we were in my Mom's car the other day. I turned around and caught her holding my purse, dumping everything out, one by one. No wonder she was being so quiet back there all of a sudden...That'll teach me to leave it on the seat next to her I guess! lol

Shopping & a BBQ

Saturday David and I went shopping for Katie's birthday present. I decided to get her clothes since she has enough toys for right now. I'm also getting her SeaWorld tickets, but I wanted to get her a present for that day too. So we went shopping and bought her about 4 outfits, that are pretty cute lol. David picked most of them out, but I paid for them, so it evened it out. Kind of...lol :p Anyway, after we shopped we went to my friend's house. Katherine invited me over for a bbq at her and Laura's house, so we went over there and hung out for a bit. The picture is of Laura and I, she's my best friend :) I had fun being able to see my friends again, it's been a while and I miss hanging out with them. David cooked hamburgers for us and Katie played with everyone, loving the attention. It was a fun day, I'm glad we got to get out for the night.

Eggs

Now that Katie's a year, she can have eggs. My Mom made some for her the other night while we were at her house. We tried to give Katie a spoon, so she can learn how to feed herself now that she's getting older, but it didn't work out lol. As soon as the egg slipped off, she gave up and started using her hands. She was so funny eating them, she was sucking it into her mouth. I'm glad she can start eating more foods now, it's hard trying to find things she can eat sometimes.

Bath Time!

Katie loooves the bath. Especially when she has a friend to play with. The whole time she was in the bath with Hannah though, Hannah kept splashing and laughing, and Katie was not liking it lol. It kept getting in her face and she kept rubbing her eyes. They still had fun though. The girls are so cute when they play together. I'm glad they're so close in age. Katie will always have a friend to hang out with, until they're teenagers and have their drama haha. Hopefully that doesn't happen though.

Jennifer's Birthday

June 5th was David's sister's birthday. The whole family drove down to Reseda to spend it with her. On our way we stopped by Vons so their Dad could get a cake for her, and I stopped by Carl's Jr to get a large water, because after an hour drive, and no air conditioning in David's car, I was dying of dehydration lol. Apparently Katie was too, because she was sucking my water up lol. It made me crack up to see her drinking out of such a LARGE cup! lol. Can Carl's Jr give bigger cups? Anyway, then we went to her apartment, and since the parking was horrible, we just ordered pizza and hung out at her place. Travis was laughing going in and out of a little shelf thing, thinking it was the funnest thing ever, it was funny. Karli was playing with Bobby's gf's daughter, Anabelle. They colored, painted their nails, decorated everyone with fake tattoos lol. They had fun together :)

I Didn't Do Anything Wrong...

Katie cracks me up with her innocent look, like she'd never do anything wrong. She's such a trouble maker behind that smile, don't let her fool you! I love that hat on her, she looks cute. She actually kept it on for most of the day, I was amazed. That day she was playing with Ashley too, she loves friends to play with lol. Her best friend will always be her cousin David though. She loves him so much. The other day I showed her a picture of him, and she took it from me and smiled real big, sooo cute :)

Sunday Night

After Joshua's birthday we went over to my Mom's house because she kept calling me, bored. We hung out with Katie and played for a bit. Jorge and Debbie came over later and started working on her patio again. Katie and I were outside hanging out, playing with her toys while they worked on the patio. My Mom gave her an apple juice and she sat at her little picnic table drinking it. She's so cute and funny. We asked her where her baby was and she started looking all around her, and in the toy bucket we had outside with her. I went into the house to get it for her and she kissed it and hugged it, and played with her for the next few minutes. She loves that thing so much, it's funny. It sure is an ugly doll (Thanks for buying that one Mom...LOL), but it's cute how Katie plays with her. I like watching her with it.

Joshua's Birthday

A little kid from my work (I work for a preschool special ed class) had a birthday party yesterday at McDonald's. He turned 4. I was worried the kids from the class wouldn't show up, so I made sure I went. My Aunt Mary went with me, and I took Katie too. It was a cute little party. 2 kids from work showed up and played. The Hamburgler (hope I spelled that right lol) came out, but Joshua and Valannie (a girl from work) were scared of him. I took pictures of Katie and Mary with him, and Mary took one of Katie and me with him. We played Hot Potato and they workers hid toys around the PlayPlace and the kids found them all. They had fun. One of the workers hid a toy in the cubby next to Katie so she could play too. She found it and pulled it out lol. It was cute. They had a Ronald McDonald cake for everyone, but the adults had to buy their own food. The kids got free kid's meals, but the Mom didn't order one for Katie, so I bought her apple juice. Mary bought mine and her food, (thanks Mary!) and then Joshua opened his presents. He got cute stuff. I bought him a Spiderman mask and Web shooter that shoots out either silly string or water, you pick which one you wanna use at the time. He brought the mask to school today lol. He LOVES Spiderman. It was a fun day though, I'm glad I went. Afterwards Mary and I went to Cold Stone to order Katie's birthday cake then hung out at Grandma's. Now I just need to order a small cake from somewhere for Katie to dig into :p I can't believe her birthday is in less than 2 weeks! She's growing up! She now has 8 teeth. Wow!

My Grandma's 60th Birthday

Friday my Grandma turned 60. We had food at her house on Saturday. My Mom bought El Pollo Loco and everyone ate and sat around talking and doing nothing. My Aunt Debbie bought a plastic man to lay on top of the cake. My Grandma thought it was funny. Mary bought her a pretty cake. I was only able to stay for a little over an hour, but Katie stayed with everyone and played with Dave Dave. They took a lot of cute pictures. I'm glad Katie has cousins she can play with. Katie walked and walked to David, having so much fun. I have a video of it too, but it's dark so I'm not gonna bother putting it up. They also played with the lego's cart, David pushed Katie around in it for a while, before she started using it as a walker lol. She finally knocked out and took a nap around 7. She's such an angel when she's sleeping, lol. She had a lot of fun with everyone. Mostly, she loved going from person to person and getting food from all their plates! haha.
