Seal Beach

Wednesday Desiree and I took the kids to Seal Beach. We left at 10:30 and got there at about noon. Katie slept the way up, and David read his books and talked to us. When we got there Desiree had matching Dora and Diego cups for them, ice cold from being in the freezer all night, and gave them some juice. David started playing in the sand, and Katie started looking around. Soon we went into the water, and David LOVED it. Katie hated it still, if you remember from my post a few months back. I think the water is just too cold for her. Maybe next year it will be more fun for her. After we went in the water for a while we took the kids to a restaurant on the pier, Ruby's Diner. We were all starving by then, so the food was yummy :) Desiree had brought a wagon for the kids, so they got a nice ride while we walked. Everyone kept commenting on how cute they were. They loved the ride and the attention. After we ate we went to look at the nearby stores they have. Seal Beach isn't as big as most of the beaches out here, and haven't had a ton of new stores built yet, so there are still cute small shop that sell shells and goodies and things. There aren't any fast food places, all restaurants. It's nice :) Desiree bought David some shells, and a cute picture frame for herself, then we went into a bakery to buy some snacks before going home. I bought Desiree a BIG cupcake, I got a BIG brownie, and David and Katie split an M&M cookie. YUM! Katie and David slept the ride home, thank goodness. It was a fun day! I love going to the beach :)

P.s. There are no pictures of me because they're on Desiree's camera (since I can't take pics of myself..lol) and she won't send them to meee!

Wal-Mart

The other day Ashley came over to hang out with boring ol' Desiree and I, so we went to Wal-Mart to try to find some sand toys for the kids for our trip to the beach. We didn't end up finding anything, I think summer season at the stores is just about over, but we pushed the kids in a cart with seats for them and I thought it was cute haha. It was a fun boring day for us. Afterwards we went for another walk to the 7-11 by my Grams' house and then I took Ash to get some food, dropped her off at home and went to spend time with David <3

Walking & Lotto tickets :p

I forgot to add that on Monday Ashleigh and Anthony came over with Hannah to my Grandma's house and we ended up taking the kids on a walk around the neighborhood to a nearby 7-11 to buy Lotto tickets. I buy them when I remember lol. My Mom pulled the kids in a wagon, it was so cute. My lotto ticket didn't win :( But I did get 2 numbers. Better than nothing, gives me hope haha. When we got to 7-11 Mary bought each of the kids a Slurpee, but only put a tiny bit in there for them. They loved it and drank it on the walk home. Mary likes to spoil them :p When we were almost back, David wanted to get out of the wagon, but we came to a spot where there was dirt, glass, and red ants and he didn't have shoes on. I told him, "here David, I'll help you," and I picked him up quick and carried him over the dirt patch, back to sidewalk, while he was telling me "Thanks Heather, you saved my life!" haha, kids are so cute. It was a fun walk :)

Travis' 2nd Birthday

Sunday was Travis' party for his 2nd birthday. It was a fun day, Katie and David played together a lot. Katie's Grandma Lynn brought her socks and a toy from Alaska, where she went for her wedding. She also gave us an ornament for the Christmas tree. It was nice of her, and Katie carried her toy around all day. It was a small party, only family went. It was themed around CARS, the Disney movie. Apparently Travis loved McQueen, lol. Every time he opened a CARS present, he would say "McQueen!" Too cute. He got a lot of cute presents. I'm sure he'll play with all his toys, and look good in his new clothes :) Katie ate LOTS of watermelon, she loved it. I'm glad she likes healthy food, because I don't like many :/ lol. I hope he had a fun birthday!

Storytime & Thursday Night on the Square

Last Thursday Desiree and I took the kids to storytime at the Children's Library again. The theme this week was Spiders. David got to be a volunteer this time, and he was so excited. Katie was a rascal. I kept her entertained for the first 2 books by giving her Cheerio's, but after sitting that long she decided she needs to babble and walk. So I took her out of the room until craft time, where I made her one. It was a toilet paper roll with construction paper taped around, and you take a spider on a string to it, so you can sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and pull it up the water spout and wash the spider out haha. It was a cute idea. Katie loved hers for about 20 mins :p
Later that day Desiree was at the circus with her son and my Mom had to work late, so I was on my own at Thursday Night at the Square. I didn't really wanna go alone, but I wanted my weekly snow cone lol. So I brought Katie's car with us and we bought a snow cone to eat, and one for Desiree. I put it in her freezer for her, but found out the next day it didn't last the night :( I tried...lol. I also bought a carne asada taco for my Grandma, because Desiree had told me last week that she wanted one. I took it to her and hung out at her house for a bit. Then went home to watch tv with David and hang out. Relaxing, boring day.

Bounce House

Tuesday Desiree and I took Katie and David to the Bounce House in Lancaster. Katie hated it. She was scared lol. David LOVED it. He jumped all over the place. Desiree and I went in to for a bit. Those slides SLIDE haha. We flew down, cracking up, thanking goodness we were the only ones there lol. It was fun though. I wish Katie would have liked it. We even tried taking her down the slide with us, but she hated it. Desiree tried putting her down a slide alone since it's all soft and padded, but she didn't like it one bit. So Desiree and I took turns going in the Moon Bounces with David, while one watched Katie. At one point David got stuck in the obstacle course they had in one of them, and started calling out "Mom, I love you!" all scared. It was too funny. She went and rescued him, and he didn't want to go back in unless one of us went with him. He's cute. At least he had fun. Katie will go again when she's older :)

Riley's Farm

Yesterday My Mom, Mary, Desiree, Dave Dave, Katie, and I went to Riley's Farm. It was about an hour and a half away. When we got there we took picutres, because they had some cute spots to take them at. Then we bought some baskets and took a hay ride uphill to pick raspberries and blackberries. The kids loved the ride. David met a friend on the ride and played with her. At first Desiree and I were too scared to even pick 1 berry because there were SOOOOO many bees! They lived in the raspberry bushes and were just everywhere. I eventually got used to it and filled my bucket, only to have my Mom give me hers to fill while she took Katie out of there lol. So Mary helped me fill the 2nd basket too. It was soo hot. While we were waiting for the hay ride to come back for us, David, his new friend, and Katie played in the sprinklers they had up there. There were supposed to be classes to churn butter, do archery, make candles, and stuff like that, but we couldn't figure out where to go :/ Maybe next time haha. My Mom wants to go back up there in October for their Halloween theme and activities. I hope it's just as fun :)

Storytime and Thursday Night on the Square

I found out that our city has storytime every Wednesday and Thursday morning, so Desiree and I took the kids this last Thursday. The theme this week was bugs and butterfly's. The librarian read 3 books to the kids. Katie sat with me for a few minutes, she sat with Desiree for a few minutes, she sat on the carpet with the kids for a few minutes, tried walking around for a few minutes, and then Desiree finally took her out for the last half of the book. I stayed with Dave Dave who stayed sitting down on the carpet with all the kids like a big boy. The librarian picked some kids to go up in front of everyone, holding a sign, and Dave Dave was sad when he didn't get picked :( Afterwards the kids did a craft. There were black pre-cut butterfly's on the tables for the kids, and bowls of small colored paper to glue on the wings. Dave Dave made a pretty one, and I made one for Katie that she carried around with her for 20 minutes. I think she liked the colors :)

Afterwards we went to eat at Olive Garden. It was so yummy. Katie and Dave Dave ate good. They stayed in their seats and chowed down :p It was a nice lunch, it was fun to get out for the morning/afternoon. I hung out with Desiree for a little longer when we got back, and then I went home to take a shower and do my hair.

At 5:30 we went to Thursday Night on the Square again. The theme this week was Monster Mash. Dave Dave made a mask, shoes, and gloves, and walked around in a small parade with the other kids. It was cute :) Katie just liked being out and walking around. I followed her around and let her go while Dave Dave was in line to make his monster costume. She is so silly. The kids had a good time, and of course we had another yummy snow cone! They are so good haha. Before we left we got carne asada tacos, yum. Desiree and I like that place mostly just because of the food haha. It's our dinner every Thursday for the next few weeks during the summer when it's open :)

Park & Pizza

The other day David and I bought a pizza and some coke and went to the park to eat it, and take Katie for a walk in her car. She ate a half a slice of pizza while we wandered around the grass by us. She's so cute. She was chowing down lol. When David took the car out of my trunk and she saw it, she ran towards him yelling, basically saying "let me in!" haha. It was so funny. Katie makes me smile more and more everyday. We put her in her car and she ate while we pushed her. It was a nice day out, not too hot. We walked around about a mile, then went home. We just wanted to get Katie out of the house for a while. I hate when she's cooped up all day :/

Tuesday Fun

I've been taking Katie to a kids class on Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30. My Aunt Mary showed it to me one day when we took Katie and Dave Dave. She hasn't been able to make it back because of work, but I've been taking Katie still. Last week Desiree went with me and took Dave Dave. I didn't have my camera so I don't have pictures, but it was a fun morning. For the activity they made ice cream. We put half and half, sugar, and a spoonful of vanilla into a baggie, and put that baggie into another one with ice and salt rocks and shook them up for about 10 minutes. It was yummy. Afterwards we went outside to fingerpaint on a white table cloth. The table cloth was smooth, so their fingers just slide around on it :) It was cute. David loved it, and asked for every color while we painted, and Katie played in the hose, since I was afraid she would touch the paint and stick her fingers right in her mouth :p We didn't stay for snack because we had errands to run that day, but the lady gave us juice to take on the road for the kids. I hope we go again next week :)

Thursday Night on the Square

I forgot to add that 0n the 10th we went to Thursday Night on the Square. It's a little thing our city likes to do in the summer. It's in the Library parking lot, and they have all kinds of vendors selling food and snacks, and crafts for the kids to do, a moon bounce, face painting, and little booths that sell toys and jewelery and stuff. My Mom, Desiree, Dave Dave, Katie, and I went to get out of the house for the evening since we were so bored. Now that it's summer vacation and we don't have work right now, Desiree and I are terribly bored, and keep looking for more things to do lol. Dave Dave played in the moon bounce, and we got snow cones and sat down and ate them for a bit. Dave Dave made the crafts they had that night, and took a picture with the bee ladies that kept walking around. He told them they are cute haha. It was adorable. There was also a puppet show that we caught the last few minutes of, and Dave Dave got a toy before we left. It was a fun night :)

KidSpace

On the 11th Desiree, Blake, Katie, Dave Dave, and I went to KidSpace. Desiree had gotten a gift card for Christmas from my Mom, so we all went :) It was $8 to get in, so she had enough for all of us with the gift card. The trip up was not so great. Desiree decided to take the mountains up because she thought it was a shortcut. Blake and I ended up feeling sick, and poor Katie threw up chunks! It was sooo nasty! I was so glad I brought her a change of clothes! The car stunk for the rest of the day :/ KidSpace was fun though. It's a cute place for kids. It's like a musuem, I think. But it's mostly just fun. At first we went into a room with all kinds of stuff, including an ant hill you can go inside of, but we were all too scared to climb through the tiny pitch black hole LOL. They had a cute kitchen there, with bugs on the menu lol. They also had a really high thing you can go up. The stairs were leaves on one, and big blue circles on another. You just went way up and then came back down. Desiree, Blake, and I went up one, only to be disappointed when we got to the top, and there wasn't a view, or something cool, but only heat from being so crowded with everyone in there lol. Outside they had lots of water to play with. A small table with water and toys on it, and up the hill a litter more, there was a stream they let all the kids play in. David loved it, but we didn't know to bring water clothes or shoes with us when we went, so he could only play for a little while, until the lady told us he needed to wear shoes to play in it. Same with Katie. She was walking around in it for a little while. Afterwards we went to eat at a little food place they have there. The food was not the best, but we had fun laughing at the stale nacho chips lol. It was a fun day, the kids really liked it. I might go back when Katie's a little older.
(I have more pictures that Desiree took, but again, my scanner sucks right now :/)

Chuck E Cheese

A few weeks ago Desiree took Katie, Dave Dave, and I to Chuck E Cheese to reward Dave Dave for going potty on the toilet 10 times. His new goal is now 20 :) (She's potty-training him lol). Anyway, it was a fun trip. We had pizza and soda first, and then let the kids play. Desiree gave Katie a few tokens so she can go on some of the baby rides, and Dave Dave played some of the games. I also have a picture of Katie that one of the rides takes, but my scanner won't work unless my printer has ink, since it's a scanner/printer. Don't ask me why, but it's frustrating lol. So I can't post that just yet. Maybe I'll add it later. After the kids played and all the tokens were gone, Desiree bought all of us an ice cream and we ate them on the way home. Katie's was all over her by the time we were home haha. It was cute. She's such a messy eater. I'm glad the kids had fun, and I did too haha. Thanks Desiree! :p

4th of July

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. I've been busy, plus my computer got a virus and I couldn't get on-line for a while :/ Anyway, for the 4th I went with Katie, my Mom, Desiree, and Dave Dave to take some pictures in a grassy area my Mom knew about. They came out pretty cute. I went to David's family at night for a bbq and fireworks, and ended up pushing the kids in Katie's car most of the night. They liked it. During the fireworks Katie kept hiding her face in my shoulder for the loud ones, and watched all the bright ones that didn't make noise lol. She was so cute. All she wanted to do that night was walk along the sidewalk though, so David and I spent most of the night chasing her and bringing her back to the yard, only to have her run off again a second later. She was a handful for us!

Thanks for reading my blog!
