Leaf Pillow

While we were at Katie's school for her Kickball Clinic, Emma decided to snuggle up to a leaf that happened to fall into her car seat. So funny. She cracks me up.

Everyday Routines

Katie asked me if she could have her very own kid's Bible. Aww. How could I say no? After school today I took her to Barnes & Noble and let her pick one out. She was so excited she read it all the way home. Man, is she a good reader! I guess all these years of bedtime stories have really paid off! She's amazing. She reads big words! I'm so proud of her!
The stuff parents do to make their kid's happy. Katie's school is having a fundraiser. She got this prize today. Cheap to me, treasure to her! Haha.
Excited to start doing this next month! I didn't have these with Katie, but my Mom sent them in the mail to me for Emma. You stick them on a white onesie and take their picture every month to watch them grow. Such a cute idea. I see everyone doing this lately, and I will gladly jump on the bandwagon.
Lastly, I just want to throw in here, I am so dang happy Katie likes fruit so much. I cut a mini watermelon in half for her and she ate it up! Yay for healthiness!

Hanging Out With Her Tutu Out

My Grandma is learning how to make tutus, haha. She made a few for Emma to wear, so when I brought her over for a visit today, after dropping Katie off at school, we stuck one on her to take a few pictures. So glad to be out and about again. David took Katie to school last week for me, and picked her up. I enjoy these things and walking her to class and all, so I'm glad my body is healing nicely and allowing me to do so!

Thankful to be a stay at home Mom once again and be able to hang out and be lazy and spend time visiting my Grandma. I was always so busy and tired when I was working every day until 6pm. This is sooo nice.

Kickball Clinic

Katie asked me if she could sign up for Kickball Clinic. A few weeks of learning how to play kickball for an hour after school once a week. For $20, why not? I signed her up. She did pretty good. Of course I went to watch, I'm not the type of Mom who will just go pick her up when it's over, I want to be there for her. She likes it when I'm at her events. Sometimes she was into it, kicking, trying to catch, running bases. But sometimes she would get mad or discouraged and sit on the field instead of participating. At 6 years old, it happens. She had fun at least!
My little jaundice baby had fun getting some sun, too. She came with me to support her sister. haha.

Emma's First Bath

Emma had her first bath tonight. She seemed to like it, she was relaxed at least, and let me wash her.
That hair. I LOVE the fact that both my girls came out with hair. So cute to me! Thankful I don't have baldies :p
 Nice and fresh!
This girl is so funny to me. I just love her so much. I also love doing things to her like putting big funny bows on her. Soon enough she won't let me harass her, gotta do it while I still can! :p

Katie's 1st Grade Field Trip

Katie's 1st Grade class went on their first field trip so early this year! She's barely been in school a few weeks. They went to an apple farm in Tehachapi. The kids were allowed to bring money for snacks and things, so of course I gave her some. This is what she came back with. She claims it was only $1 and she brought back lots of change, so maybe it was. Seems like it would cost a bit more. Oh well, I won't complain she didn't waste all my money! haha. She also got to pick 6 apples and bring them home, except one rolled down the bus when she was getting on, so she brought 5 home.
She had a fun time, I'm just bummed I couldn't go with her! Emma is only 3 days old, I was in no condition to drive down there with them =( Glad she liked it though!

Welcome, Emma Riley!

I am officially a mother of two!
My second daughter was born at 3:39am on Monday, September 16, 2013. I wasn't sure I was really in labor, since it didn't hurt yet, but I started feeling funny, so I did my hair and everything about 11pm, haha. Just in case! About midnight, the pain started, so David made me wait while he hopped in the shower and made a sandwich =/ What a punk! I ran around the house like a crazy person since I'm not responsible enough to pack things ahead of time. I got Katie clothes to wear to school in the morning and grabbed some clothes for me and called my Mom. I didn't want Katie to be up all night or to have to sleep in the waiting room over at the hospital, so my Mom was nice enough to watch her for us while we headed to the hospital. Boy was I in trouble for not calling everyone and inviting them to all sit in the waiting room at 2am =/ (But really, I think I did them a favor. Not like they could have seen the baby for hours anyway.) When I got to the hospital, they weren't taking me seriously. It was close to 2am at this point, and they wanted me to go pee in a cup and get dressed in the gown and all that. I nicely told them that I can't pee in their cup, I hurt too much. lol. I guess if I was a screaming maniac they would have helped me quicker, but how embarrassing would that have been?! haha. So they finally come in and check on me and were surprised to see I was at 8cm already. Well, duh, I said I hurt. lol. So they call my doctor, who cannot be reached, and give me the on call doctor instead. Fine with me, lets just get this over with please. I came in too late to get the full epidural, but they tell me I can get partial. Okay, gimme. Apparently my water wasn't broken yet, let me tell you, it was a very strange feeling to have them reach in there and pop my water. It gushed out like you would have popped a water balloon. So weird! Then my poor Emma's heart is slowing down big time! They make me lay on my side, then try my other side, then give me an oxygen mask to wear. She's now stable, whew! I know this is my second time, but I was not prepared. Katie's delivery was a breeze thanks to the full epidural and the fact that they sucked her out of me since the cord was wrapped around her neck. It took all of 3 pushes. Emma wanted to stay in for a bit longer it seemed. I pushed and pushed, the annoying nurse made me ask her about 25 times to please stop trying to stretch me with her finger, that hurt terribly and she just kept trying anyway. I didn't yell, I didn't get crazy, but I really did keep asking her if she could please stop that. About 30 minutes later, the head was almost out, thank goodness. I was at the point where I was telling the nurse I cannot push anymore, she just wasn't coming out. She made me keep trying of course. At this point David and I still have not agreed on a middle name for Emma. Then, miraculously, when she comes out, I hear David call her "Emma Riley." I think he felt sorry for me and gave me this one, haha. Thanks! I'll take it! I love her and I love her middle name :p My little heifer was a whole ounce bigger than Katie, at a whopping 8lbs 14oz. Yikes I grow big babies. She's beautiful though.

My Mom came over after taking Katie to school. Visiting hours weren't until 10, but they didn't stop her from coming in early =)
My Grandma stopped by later too.
David's Dad
Her first outfit, Brand Sparkling New.
My Grandma made her a tutu :p
Then finally, at 3 Katie got out of school and my Mom brought her to me. She was soooo excited to meet her little sister. She's going to be great.
Our first family photo. Priceless.
Just because I just gave birth, and have been up for very likely over 36 hours, doesn't mean I can't look decent/cute. haha. I'm a happy/proud Mommy!
David took Katie to the gift shop and they bought Emma a present.
After Katie left, more visitors stopped by.

Such a happy day. I was terrible exhausted by the end of the night, but so glad to finally be able to hold her. My beautiful baby girl. I love being a Mom SO much. Katie has been the best thing in my life, and now I have two. So thankful to God for giving me two healthy wonderful beautiful blessings. I prayed and I prayed for this baby and I feel so lucky to finally have her. So grateful to everyone who came to visit me in the hospital because they were so excited they wanted to meet Emma on her first day in this world <3 a="" alone="" and="" baby="" born.="" br="" care="" could="" david="" doctors="" for="" get="" home.="" i="" katie="" me="" mom="" my="" nice="" night="" of="" over="" patiently="" release="" since="" so="" stayed="" surprise="" the="" to="" took="" waited="" was="" when="" which="" with="">

First Day Snack

We went to go get Katie a special snack after school at Rite-Aid, before it was time to go to gymnastics. We ran into several other Desert Christian students there, who must have had the same idea! A tradition in the making! Ice cream after the first day of school :p

My First Grader

My daughter is in First Grade! Ahhh! Where has the time gone? She picked her outfits for the week and I have to say, she looks super cute =) We kept up our tradition of her First Day of School sign and what she wants to be when she grows up.

Her backpack and lunch box this year feature the pretty Sophia the First.
Her new cubby that she shares with my old co-worker's daughter, Abby.
The desk she will sit at, and her first morning work.
Today is also my first day off work! Hopefully I won't have to go back until the baby is old enough for preschool! ;) Here's to the new year! Hope it's awesome!

Labor Day, 2014

Today is Katie's last day of summer vacation! I love that her school still follows the tradition of starting school the day after labor day, like I always did as a kid. The only bummer is all her cousins still start in August =/ But, since it's the holiday, everyone was off and we celebrated Katie's last day off by going to Drytown of course! Tomorrow my baby will be a 1st grader!! Crazy. My 2nd baby is also due in just 2 short weeks. Crazy! I'm going to miss my alone time with Katie, but I'm excited for this new adventure my family is going on, raising a 2nd child.

The girls had a good time together, I love when Katie has someone to play with =) She's such a fun girl, she loves having friends around. Drytown is now officially only open on weekends for the rest of the month!

Thanks for reading my blog!
