Madison's Field Trip

Ashleigh invited me to Madison's school field trip so she wouldn't be alone. I was more than happy to tag along :) I dressed Emma in her Halloween outfit before dropping Katie off at school and we headed over to pick up Ashleigh. The kids learned about some animals when we got there.

Some of the statues were pretty cool. Olaf was cute. We had to follow another Mom into the maze, she was in charge of Madison's group, and she wouldn't wait for us to snap a picture or anything, it was annoying =/
We were finally able to go off on our own after the kids had lunch. If your parent was there, you were allowed to go with them. We rode in the cars for a bit.
Posed Emma for a bit.
And then bought tickets for the train ride that took us all around the corn maze.

It was a nice afternoon together, I'm glad she invited me. Emma had fun, Madison had fun, and I had fun.

Katie's Second Grade Field Trip

Mary was nice enough to watch Emma for 2 hours for me so I could attend Katie's field trip with her. It was Cirque Zuma Zuma. I didn't care for it, it didn't look like Katie and her friends did for very long either, but I was still glad I was able to be with Katie anyway. It's hard to spend time with her alone now that I have two kids. I miss her.

An American Girl In A Limo

The Girls Scouts used their cookie sale money to rent a Limo and go to the American Girl Place in Los Angeles. They were so excited to get in the limo. I was a little disappointed that it was so squishy in the limo. We had a lot of people I guess. The limo driver was even nice enough to get balloons and some sparkling cider for the girls, since they're too little for champagne.

I didn't realize how big the store was.
Katie brought some of the money she's been saving and bought a new dress for her doll.
All of the girls were able to pick out a doll to take home, get their picture on the cover of the monthly magazine, eat at the cafe, and get a hairstyle.
The store has a small salon section, for the dolls to get their hair styled, with different options to choose from and different prices. This is the style Katie picked out.
The Cafe was pretty cool, they gave each girl a small highchair that connects to the table so their dolls can sit with them.
Each doll was given a small plate and cup the girls were allowed to take home after.
The dessert was so cute!
Katie changed her doll into her new dress, she looked beautiful and Katie was a happy girl =)
The girls gave a toast and drank their sparkling cider on the way home.
It was a pretty fun day. Emma was a bit of a handful, but not too bad. The store was really cool, the bathrooms even had little holders for the dolls, so they didn't get dirty on the floor while the girls used the restroom. Good reward for selling cookies =)

Girl Scout Fire Station

Katie is joining the Girl Scouts. I waited until she turned 5 so I could finally sign her up, and then I forgot to =/ But I remembered at age 6, and here we are! She is a Daisy for one more year =) Last week was her first day. I am still a bit confused, but we're getting there. After I paid the $15 registration she was good to go. When we got to our first meeting, it was mixed ages, no uniforms, and a disappointment kind of. They went on a tour of the Library since that's where we met anyway. After the meeting was over, the leader told us about a troop that is only for Daisies, instead of this mixed group. We wanted to try it, but the next meeting wasn't for a while, so we went back to this one one more time. They were headed to the Fire Station across the street, so we went. I like that they do trips, I'd just prefer kids the same age and a real troop with uniforms and stuff.
Emma found her car seat toy today.

The tour was pretty cool. The kids were able to put on the jacket, boots, hat. Look at the truck, look inside the station a bit. The firemen were really nice =) They got called to a fire, so we headed back to our meeting. Next time we try the other troop that meets Mondays, 5-6. Wish us luck!

Katie's 1st Grade Field Trip

Katie's 1st Grade class went on their first field trip so early this year! She's barely been in school a few weeks. They went to an apple farm in Tehachapi. The kids were allowed to bring money for snacks and things, so of course I gave her some. This is what she came back with. She claims it was only $1 and she brought back lots of change, so maybe it was. Seems like it would cost a bit more. Oh well, I won't complain she didn't waste all my money! haha. She also got to pick 6 apples and bring them home, except one rolled down the bus when she was getting on, so she brought 5 home.
She had a fun time, I'm just bummed I couldn't go with her! Emma is only 3 days old, I was in no condition to drive down there with them =( Glad she liked it though!

Katie's Gymnastics Field Trip

My class and Katie's class went to main campus for a field trip to their gymnastics center as a last field trip of the summer, before the new school year starts next week. Maria even brought her daughter Leah.

They were not prepared for us at all, apparently, someone forgot to make the reservation or something, so the workers did the best they could to make sure the kids had a fun time.

What a chaotic fun day for the kids. It was so crazy not having anything planned, but the end result was the kids having a great time anyway, so that's awesome. Katie sure enjoyed herself. They did the parachute, then did an obstacle course and the kids just went around and around on that until it was time to go back to school for lunch. But it was a lot of fun for them, jumping in the foam blocks, swinging on the ropes, and all that fun stuff.

Rio

My class and Katie's class both went on a field trip to the Dollar Theater, Movies 22. We went to see Rio and get popcorn and Sprite. Maria's daughter Abby, from main campus went with her class too. Love being able to go on field trips with Katie! =)

Katie's First Field Trip

Katie went on her first field trip! They went to Stater Bros. They all got their matching yellow handkerchiefs on so they could be spotted easily, and were on their way.

She brought back a bag with chips, string cheese, a memo pad, a pencil, and balloon home.
I asked her if it was fun, but she said they just looked at a bunch of boring machines. lol. Oh well, still cool. I wish my class could have gone so I could have seen her first field trip.

Thanks for reading my blog!
