Karaoke and S'mores

My little nosy girl was checking out the backyard today, since she can reach when she stands on the treadmill. She is so funny.

Katie played with the new karaoke machine Desiree gave her for her birthday today, so far we only have 2 songs, I have to figure out how to add more or buy another cd or something for it. Katie has always had a passion for singing, so this was a cool gift.

When it got dark, David set the bon fire up for us in the backyard. I love when he does that for us. We all made s'mores and they were delicious.I bought 4 metal sticks from Target for $1 each, to roast the marshmallows on, pretty good deal. Emma was making me a little nervous, but Katie is a pro by now. So yummy! Summer nights are so relaxing and wonderful. Now if only the summer days weren't so hot.

Full Moon Hike

I found out through Facebook that every month on the Saturday closest to the full moon, Devil's Punchbowl does a night time hike for free. We went to go try it out. My Mom had Emma in the back carrier, and Katie was walking by me. Her friend Kayle and her Mom met us there. After walking for a few minutes, Vicki got very behind and since Kayle was sticking with Katie, she ended up being stuck with us. She was worried about her Mom, but a worker was behind with her, so we knew she would be okay. When the hike was over, Vicki still wasn't back, and they sent another worker out there to help them. They had marshmallows and sticks for everyone, so they could roast marshmallows for a small after hike snack, as well as hot cocoa. The kids of course wanted to try it all. Thirty minutes later, we couldn't leave, because Vicki still hadn't returned, and we couldn't just leave Kayle there, so we sat around waiting. She finally made it up, and had some hot cocoa before heading home. It ended up being a long night, haha. Fun though. It was tricky to see in the dark, and they didn't allow flashlights. I think my Grandma had the hardest time. Blake tried using the flashlight on his cell phone for her, but the tour people got annoyed and said no lights please. But, when your Grandma is about to twist her ankle or something, I think you can bend the rules a little, lol. Not sure we'll go again, but it was nice to try it. It was only a short one mile hike.

S'mores With A Twist

As I'm looking around on the Internet, I found someone who put different kinds of candy into smore's. How have I never thought to do that? I went to the store and bought a few different kinds, and of course the original Hershey's, to try out. We have that bon fire pit in our backyard, and we hardly ever use it.

When it was all over, I realized I'm plain, and just like the normal s'mores best.

I Want S'More

Before David left for the airport we made smores together on the bon fire pit in our backyard. It was Katie's first one, but she didn't like it much. She said she just wanted the chocolate haha.

I love my family so much :)
