Mother's Day on the Queen Mary

I try to make Mother's Day at least a little cool for my Mom, since she's so awesome to me and all. But I do find it hard to come up with cool things to do, or at least fun things to do. It seems like we've done all there is to do in California, and my budget doesn't exactly allow me to travel the world. But then I thought, hey! She's always wanted to go on the Queen Mary. That leads me to the QueenMary.com. I found out we can do dinner on the Queen Mary. They had a few options to choose from. Did I want to pay less and do a buffet, or pay more and have a fancy dinner for Mother's Day? I chose Sir Winston's. I told Mary about it to see if she wanted to tag along too, since Desiree's over in New Mexico for Mother's Day.
When we got there we walked around a bit, looking for the right restaurant, and of course took some photos. I was just happy to still fit into a dress I bought when I was 17. Go me!
There were 2 types of salads we could choose from, for our first course. Obviously, we picked the wrong one, haha. The other table had one that looked much....fuller? More ingredients? More...better? lol. We also got a French Onion Apple Tart soup (or something like that) but I forgot to take a picture of it. I gave mine to Katie, and she actually ate some of it, like the big bread part that was floating on top. haha.
They gave these to us to wash down the salad, before the main course came. The nice part? They gave Katie her own, even though technically she just shared everything else with me, because she's little and in no way going to eat 90% of this food.
Blake and I ordered this. I believe it's tri-tip. Can't remember now. It came with a purple potato that weirded us all out, to the point where each of us HAD to try a bite, just to see.
My Mom and Mary ordered the vegetarian dish.
Chocolate breaded pudding I think, with a teaspoon of mocha ice cream. This was choice #1
And a fruit dessert was choice #2. Of course my Mom and Mary picked this one :p
Katie, on the other hand, was very glad I picked the chocolate one as my dessert. Yum!
Usually restaurants will give you mints with you bill. This place gave us these. They were delicious!
Another great part of the day, there were only 1 or 2 other families in there. So it was nice and quiet too. Pretty fancy, pretty fun, pretty cool to mark something off my Mom's bucket list.

Happy Mother's Day Mom! Thanks for everything you do for us! I hope you had a good day! I sure enjoyed it!
