Girl Scout Cooking Class

I signed Katie up for a cooking class event the other girls in our troop were going to, but Emma wasn't allowed to come. It was down in LA, so I asked my Mom if she wanted to watch Emma or take Katie, and of course she wanted to take Katie, so I had to stay home =/ lol. It seemed really cool, they got tons of supplies that they were able to keep and take home, including an apron and baking dish and rolling pin and Silpat mat. They made strawberry rhubarb pie and it looked so fancy when Katie brought it home in a box to show me. When I let her taste it, she did not like it, but she did have fun making it. They rolled the dough out, adding the toppings, and had lots of fun. She even met one of the judges from Master Chef Jr. that we have coincidentally been watching during dinner together lately. So cool! I am super jealous, but I'm glad Katie had a great day. She's so special to me <3 br="">

Katie's Cooking Class

Every year, Katie's school does Winter Clubs. Katie always wants to do cooking class, but it always fills up so fast, she's never been able to do it before. I would go in the next morning to sign her up, and it would already be full. This year I got smart and kept money in my car so that when she would get the flyer, we could go in and sign her up right away. Turns out, they made 2 cooking classes this year anyway, so she probably would have gotten a spot regardless. This way she was able to pick which teacher she wanted it with though, and she picked her first grade teacher, Mrs. O. The classes are 8 weeks long, and are after school once a week until 4:15. Since David gets off work at 4 now, he picks her up from school for me on these days. Everyone in the class ate their snack/project in class, but Katie saved hers so she could show me. She is too cute and sweet. This was the only time she saved it, because later on she'll be making ice cream and things that can melt, and I told her that's fine, she can eat it with all her friends, but she always told me all about her creations when she got home. This one, was for Groundhog Day. Haha. So cute.
