Time to go home! It was fun, the kids liked it. We had a free pancake breakfast before we left, I guess they do that every Sunday morning. And now in two weeks, Katie goes back to school! Summer time is almost over. The relaxing and fun times off will be missed, but the summer heat will not! Grateful for the family time!

Camping Continued
Well, our second day here at the KOA. It seems really fun. They have activities for the kids each day it seems. A pool. A little store and pizza place if we need anything. But let me tell you about the bugs!! No, not roaming around eating us. In the bathroom! YUCK! I guess they come out at night, when they're attracted to the lights inside. I went to wash my face before bed and man. They were all over the counter where the sinks are. It's like the counter is marbled with them, it is grody. They were gone in the morning though, so they must have cleaned in there. I am so thankful my Mom filled up an air mattress for me to sleep on. After that horrible sleep at the Jethawks from being pregnant, this mattress was sweet relief, even if I did have to share it with 2 kids.

Emma is always willing and ready to pose when my Mom wants to stop on the side of the road for a nature shot. She's a good sport.
For our first full day at camp, my Mom wanted to go to the river. My
kids tried, they really did. But, we're just not as into nature as she
is. So, they put their feet in, and played in the shallow water. My Grandma sure dove in good though. It was a good time together hanging out, but we didn't really get too wet.
After the river, we hung out at camp, playing games and went for a swim. They liked the pool a lot better than the river water!

The kids played water balloon games the camp did.
We got dinner ready together. The KOA had a communal kitchen area that we were
able to use. Pretty neat. We just had to bring our own pots and pans
and things. And of course s'mores for dessert! The ultimate camping dessert!
My Mom brought these weird popcorn things that pop over the fire. Kinda cool.

Summertime KOA Camping
Camping is not something on my top 10 things I love to do. But my Mom loves being outdoors and all that good stuff, so we go for her. My kids always have fun when we're there, but I'm pretty sure they're like their Mom, and would rather be in a hotel any day than a tent. It's important to have experiences though, so I do like my kids having the opportunity to camp. I don't want them to be teenagers and have never been camping. That's just embarrassing. Haha. We stopped at the store and they both begged for a Princess toy that is sold by the registers. Funny how they're 6 years apart, wanting the same toy. Made me laugh.

I'm grateful my cousin and his family came camping with us. I have a firm belief that cousins should be friends and also that it's more fun with more people. I'm always grateful when my kids have friends to play with on our adventures. It helps the experience, and helps them have better memories.
The kids enjoyed their first day at camp. I'm glad my Mom had so much equipment already in her garage, to help with the cost of things. I'm too pregnant for this heat though.
