Chucks, Winnie, and a Balloon
The new Winnie the Pooh movie is out! Katie is ready with her shirt and Winnie cup. But first, lets go have lunch at Chuck E. Cheese until it starts.
Time for the movie!
I thought it was pretty cute. The adults were in the Winnie mood, and we were thinking, we should take the kids to Party City to get red balloons, just like Pooh had!
The kids had other ideas though. Pink is cool, too, I guess...
Summer days are awesome.

Cleo Street Beach
I'm pretty sure my Mom loves finding new beaches to take the kids to. It seems like she never goes to the same one twice. This time we tried out Cleo Street Beach, over by Laguna I believe. The sand part was small, and close to houses. That surprised me. But a beach is a beach, and it was fun.
Being lazy carrying everything back to the car.

Night Time Is A Good Time To Swim
Madison is too cool to just touch the top with her hand. She likes to touch it with her foot.
And of course, snack time before we leave!

1st Dentist Appointment
Katie's first dentist appointment. How exciting. Every parent feels like their kid is growing up when they go to their first dental appointment. The Army insurance we have wouldn't let us go before she was 4. I didn't know that kid didn't NEED to go to the dentist before 4. But I guess it makes sense, if they take care of their teeth. It's not like little kids drink soda or anything worse than watered down juice at this age, so their teeth can't be too bad, right?
Can you guess how upset I was, when they told me I can't be in the room with her? They said it's their policy, so the kids won't cry for their parents or something. If it was in a room with a door, and I couldn't see her from my seat 30 feet away, I would not have let her stay. So I took my picture, and went to go wait until they were done. How annoying.
The good news is, Katie has 0 cavities, and they said she is such a happy child. I knew that. She's amazing. Way to go, Katie!

Drytown Is Where It's At This Summer
David is spending the summer down here with his Nana, Mary. He misses California, so his Mom lets him visit when he can.
Katie does not like being splashed on her face. So she waits here, until the bucket of water drops, then runs up the stairs before it has time to fill back up. Smart kid.

The 4th Of July
Happy 4th of July! Katie and I spent the day at Gee Gee's house. Nothing too big, nothing too exciting. Just hanging out and doing fireworks.
The poppers for the day time.
Sparklers for when we start getting antsy and wanting to light fireworks.
Snakes to hold us over just a little bit longer...
And then it's finally dark out.
It's never fun when the sparklers burn your finger though.
So sitting and watching the bigger fireworks from the curb is a safer way to go.

Friday Night Swimming
I like that Drytown does night events on Friday's during the summer. It's fun for the kids for things to be a little different.
Can I tell you how much I love my Kodak Easyshare Sport camera? It takes pictures, underwater, in the water, all around the water, and never gets ruined. Awesome.
