Trick-Or-Treat!

Hannah and Madison joined us to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood this year. We went for about an hour, then the kids were tired of walking, and they had enough candy anyway. Katie and Emma switched outfits from the ones they wore at my Mom's work. This time Katie was Anna and Emma was Elsa.
\

Halloween isn't the most exciting holiday, but the kids like getting candy, and a night of walking never hurt anyone. I had a good time. I was happy David had the night off and was able to go with us.

An Early Halloween

My Mom's work does a trick-or-treating day each year, where the employees can bring their kids/grandkids to walk around the office and trick-or-treat. This year my Mom told me to go, even though she wasn't going to be there, she had a visit with a client. I invited Ashleigh too since Mary also works there. It was a bit weird going without my Mom, they did stop us at the door and tell us the employee is supposed  to be with us, and I was so embarrassed. Like I was trying to steal candy or something, geez lol. We got ready after school at Ashleigh's and she did Katie's hair for me.
Last year for Halloween, Emma was only 1 month, so she didn't really do much. Okay, she did nothing but eat and poop. But this year, she was ready. She had the getting candy thing down. She carried her bucket and carefully put each piece inside. It was so cute.

The girls got a lot of candy and tried to eat a bunch on the way to Gee Gee's, but I took the bucket to prevent that from happening.

Rise Of The Jack O' Lanterns

I saw tickets on Groupon, for Rise of the Jack O'Lanterns. It looked pretty cool for only $12. I've never heard of it before, but I read online that they carve over 10,000 pumpkins, to look like celebrities, video games, spiders, dinosaurs, all kinds of things.
Katie was assigned her Girl Scout troop's Brownie Elf this week, so we brought her with us on our trip, too. Katie had fun for the first 20 minutes, then she dumped her in the stroller for the night.

Some of the pumpkins were really cool looking. Of course they had Frozen pumpkins. Katie liked those ones a lot.
All in all, I would say it was fun, and really neat to see all the carvings. BUT, on the other hand, it was VERY crowded and hard to even walk to the next exhibit. Add a stroller in the mix and it was just annoying. I'm not sure we'll go again next year. Maybe if they limit the number of people that go in at once, or something.
I was really glad my Grandma went with us, she doesn't usually go places. It was nice having her there and spending time with her =)

Trick-Or-Treat Princesses

For Halloween this year, David had to go to school, so my Mom came over and we just went around my neighborhood for an hour or so. Katie and Emma were Sophia and Snow again, just like at Disneyland. Emma was content in a stroller for once, though it was a cheap umbrella stroller.
Katie had her cool new bucket.
And away we went!
Some of the decorations were pretty cool, I have always wanted to decorate my house for the holidays, but it's so darn expensive to buy a lot, and it looks so cheap if you only buy a few small things =/
This spider scared Katie twice, I was cracking up. Since Katie hates when people laugh at her, she cried =/ Ugh. So funny though. It popped out on her on the way to the door, and on the way back, hahaha.
She got pretty tired, and we had to take a lot of rests. But she got a pretty full bucket eventually and we headed on back home.
Peaceful night out, glad Emma was good. Glad Katie got her candy.

1st (Annual?) Halloween Party

My Mom decided to throw a small Halloween party for the girls. She made food, bought snacks, crafts, games. It was a fun night for them! We started out eating, yum! Chocolate covered potato chips were yummy!
She saved the Toy Story Spooky special on her dvr for them to watch.

Played Bobbing for Apples. The kids tried their best, but it was just so hard for them, they kept spinning away and Katie got really frustrated =/ Bummer.
 Making caramel apples. Yum!
Katie decorated hers like a face haha.
We were going to carve pumpkins, but to save ourselves from all the mess, stickers worked better :p

The kids spent a little bit of time playing in the room too. They have fun together, I hope they always stay close.
Poor little Emma doesn't get to do much yet since she's so little. lol.
It was a fun night, I hope we get to do more of them.

Halloween, 2012

Katie didn't want to dress up as Blueberry Muffin again, so we pulled her Rapunzel dress out of her closet and let her go as Rapunzel instead. She even had the flower braid and a matching purple pumpkin pail, we were good to go! We just went down a few streets in our neighborhood, alone this year. Ashleigh and Anthony didn't join us, so it was a quiet Halloween. My Mom came, and David brought Jake along too.

Trick-Or-Treat Girls

Halloween night we went around a neighborhood for about an hour. The girls got some candy, had fun hanging out together, and got nice and tired for bedtime =) I'm really happy that Katie was able to trick-or-treat with her cousins. It bums me out that she's an only child and never has friends/siblings to do things with. Boring doing things alone, or even with just your parents sometimes.

Happy Halloween Everyone!! Are you ready for November?!

A Gentle Day

Katie dressed as a veterinarian at the Gentle Barn. They had a small Fall Festival going on.
She decorated a bag when we got there. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure she ever put anything in that bag...
But it did come out cute =)

I bought her a bag of carrots to feed the horses. She was laughing so much when the horses tickled her hands.

 So true! Haha.

We needed a popcorn and juice snack break.
 Katie loves animals. So much.

The Gentle Barn is pretty fun for kids. I wish it were a little closer, but still, 30 minutes isn't bad. I would much rather go in the Fall than Summer though, that's for sure!! So many fun things to do this time of year. So glad I'm able to do them with Katie.

Thanks for reading my blog!
