Katie's First SNOW DAY :)

Today it SNOWED in Palmdale, California. I'm so excited! Everyone kept telling me it was supposed to snow, but I never imagined it would snow this much! It started early this morning and while getting for work I went online to check my job number for the day and saw that the school I was supposed to work at was starting 2 hours late, and to stay posted in case it was cancelled. I went to my Mom's to get some snow boots and a snow suit for Katie that my Mom had bought her a few months ago. An hour and a half later I checked again and all schools were closed except those already in session. I'm glad I got to spend the snow day with Katie, but I'm sad I lost $55 from not working, especially when I need it so much since I won't be getting paid for the next 2 weeks either due to Christmas Vacation :/
As soon as I got home I gave Katie a bath and got her dressed really warm to go out. She was so warm, that she was walking like a penguin slow and waddling, because she could hardly move with all her snow clothes on lol. We all laughed, it was cute. David got up with us too, and we headed over to my Grandma's so Katie and David could play together.
I had to drive very slow so I didn't crash. Everyone was doing a good job about driving careful, so it wasn't too bad. When we got to my Grandma's house the kids went outside together. I made them take pictures first of course! :) Then we let them play. ALL Katie wanted to do was walk through the snow. She didn't play. She just liked hearing it crunch under her feet I think. She walked down the street and back. Too funny.
When she fell, it took her a while to get back up, made me laugh. Her snow suit was just too poofy :p I helped her up after seeing her struggle, then she would just keep on walking again lol. She was making me laugh because not only did she keep walking down the street, but she wouldn't step where footprints already were. She wanted to walk on the FRESH, untouched snow.
We finally got way too cold and headed back inside to warm up for a while. My Mom was on her way over, so I tried to stay out and wait for her, but we just couldn't anymore! Katie decided she wanted to wait though. She threw a FIT to go back outside, and even got the sliding door opened a little. So we went back outside to let her walk around again. Desiree let me borrow a snow jacket she had, thank goodness. The jacket I had on was soaked from both David's throwing snowballs at me, and the snow falling down on me. I was cold! lol. Katie got outside finally, and there she went. Up and down the street again. When my Mom finally got there, she wanted a picture with Katie too of course, so we posed and took more pictures lol. I love taking pictures :) Keep in mind, that we took these pictures early, around 9-10 am, and that there is MUCH more snow now that it's later in the day. It's STILL snowing! And it's still coming down hard! It's supposed to continue until midnight, we'll see :) The whole town is white, it's sooo pretty!We left my Grandma's a little later, to go visit David's Dad and let him have a chance to see Katie in the snow, but he wasn't answering his phone so David and I headed back home. Katie watched Wubbzy for a little bit while David and I cooked, then we ate together. After that I rocked Katie for 2 minutes and she fell asleep for 2 1/2 hours! The snow must have worn her out! In the meantime, my Mom brought over some chocolate milk powder, milk, and whipped cream, so we got to make hot chocolate :) YUM! David was cheap and wanted cold chocolate milk, but I warmed mine up. Katie was still sleeping, so she hasn't gotten any yet, but she will before she goes to bed :p Now that the excitement of the snow is gone, we're realizing it kind of sucks. We can't go out, we're trapped in the house kind of bored...my Mom must be even more bored because she said her cable went out, and she can't even watch tv lol. The roads are too bad to drive on, especially now that it's dark out :/ I want to go get pizza, it sounds sooo good on a nice cold day like this, but I don't want to risk driving over there :/ Fun morning though, very relaxing. I'm sooo glad I'm almost on vacation, and that it's almost Christmas! I can't wait to see Katie open all her presents. Christmas is definately my favorite holiday! :) I wonder if I'll have work tomorrow...

Trees have been falling down around my apartment. Big trees. One fell down by my balcony earlier today. When David and I opened our door tonight, this is what we saw. A huge tree fallen in front of our front door. My car is RIGHT there behind it, THANK GOODNESS that we have the covering over our parking lot! My car would be under the tree right now! How scary to have huge trees falling down. David and I didn't even hear it fall!
